what time of year you planning on being here for wheeling? this season has been mild for snow pack and i know a bunch of trails are able to be ran but anything in the mountains is closed till usually late april and later the further up the mountain passes you get.

That is good to know!! But with the light snow this winter do you think i will take that long for them to open this year? I am in need of a vaca soon, so probably early april or so. Maybe even the weekend of 4/20. Should be interesting to experience. Haha.

Thanks for the link. I will check it out. I just need to make sure i find a mellow trail that is open.

Any recomendations on trails i should check out?

Wait until July (snow melts around then) and visit the Silverton area. Very popular with the Texas vacationers. Lots of scenic trails suitable for stock or near stock vehicles.

the ski resorts just got 13" of snow last night and still snowing. We are not getting nearly the moisture here in denver area but a lot of the trails are in the mountains not on the front range, mountain passes and trails above tree line will not open anytime soon.

Plenty of trails to check out though, the gulches near woodland park area, yankee hill is another that lots of people are playing around on right now. I heard a group made it up and over kingston 2 weeks ago as well.

but we haven't got snow or rain at my house in like one and a half months :( Ive been watering my grass!! I call BS on that snowpack map for the front range

and my house faces south so i usually have snow in my back yard for most of the winter spring months and its been bone dry now for over a month.
