    Hi guys,

Again, sorry if this has been discussed, I have searched before posting.

I want aggressive tires for traction on slippery grounds only, as I am often offroading but not doing anything serious. Mainly going up and down lumberjack trails. However, I also do a 100mile a day commute, so the tires will have to be able to handle mostly paved roads.

Can you recommend a good looking, aggressive tire that will most importantly wear slowly when given a lot of pavement? I currently am considering the goodyear wrangler duratrac.

Cooper Discoverer AT3. Very road worthy tire but looks aggressive enough. My wife has them on her SUV and they are dead silent but very grippy in wet and dirty conditions.

Before I read your whole question, I immediately thought of the duratracs. I have them and they are tame on the street and provide great traction off road. I haven't tried any of the other brands, but I would recommend duratracs to anyone looking for an AT tire with aggressive looks and performance off road.

Firestone destination AT's. Quiet/smooth on the road, and aggressive enough for light "off-road". Also has a pretty good tread-life from what I hear...

The Toyo at2's are another good choice, I was happy with mine.

OME lift. Tires and wanting more
I have ran a few tires on my truck and the ones I always go back to are the Michelin ltx m/s2 they are amazing on the road in all conditions. I have driven through huge snow storms and rain. Never had a problem. Only place they lack is in the mud. But as far as a everyday tire that you can take off road I say go with them. Off roading I have never ran in to a problem. I get about 65k miles on them. On my third set now

I have the Duratracs as well on the Tacoma but my wife has the Hankook Atm 20160214_144957.jpg on her 4 runner and they are very quiet. I prefer the look of the Duratracs but they are a little noisy on the freeway.

I had duratracs on my Jeep. Great all-around tire, very few sacrifices as well. Reasonably quiet, decent snow, good mud performance, acceptable fuel economy and they look good also. One thing that's a bit gimmicky is the side lugs, they're purely cosmetic.

Personally I've ran Nitto for years, from DR'S on my shelby, to Terra grapplers on an f150 and an H2, and trail grapplers on my ram 3500. I have nothing bad to say about them.

That said a would also say the toyo at2 mainly because you can get it in a 10ply.

    Bridgestone Dueler AT revo 2.

I went through two sets of them on my Xterra, plan on putting them on on my 2016 TRD Off Road. Great performance on wet roads, very quiet, and handled great on dirt/gravel roads. Only problem I had is that when the tread got low, they got a lot slicker than I expected, especially in the wet, but other than that they outperformed my BFG AT TA/KOs in every respect.

Cooper AT3 would be a great choice. I'm a huge fan of their ST maxx which was also recommended above but they're quite a bit heavier and will impact your gas mileage significantly over stock.. Unless you need heavy duty sidewalls I'd stick with something lighter weight. Cooper in general is going to be a better value versus Goodyear. Overland Journal gave the AT3 top ratings over a number of competing all terrain tires, for what it's worth (search online for "where the rubber meets the road").
