Yeah... winning the Heisman doesn't help us in the NC hunt, if recent history has anything to say about it. Not to mention it's just going to fuel the desire for one of the best quarterbacks in the country. 26 days and counting....

OK... So I deleted my earlier post b/c it was a bit harsh. But there's a good reason that people cracked jokes about Tebow crying after the loss. Everybody in the country (not wearing jorts) is sick and f'ing tired of the 3-year BJ Tebow has been enjoying from the media. Yes, he's a good guy. Yes, he's a Christian. Yes, he's an incredible football player, but we're SICK AND F'ING tired of hearing about it already. Tebow Tebow Tebow all the time.

Tebow, like many athletes, cried after a loss. I'm sure people snicker at anybody crying, but when it's Tebow and there's FINALLY something to make fun of, people pounce on it.

Comparing Ingram crying accepting the Heisman to Tebow crying after a loss isn't quite a fair comparison. Yes, he's crying... and as a football player, that's odd to see. But it's far more acceptable to cry after you win something than after you lose. If you cry after a win, you're emotional and/or spent (like Jordan hugging the trophy after the Finals)... when you cry after you lose, you're a bad loser and a baby.

Make jokes about Ingram crying if you want. He cried on TV, so it's fair game. But I think you'll find it difficult to get many people to agree that it's as 'point and laugh' funny as Tebow's breakdown.

Another example of why I'm tired of Tebow... The Heisman vote totals were:

    Ingram -- 1,304 points
    Gerhart - 1,276 points
    McCoy -- 1,145 points
    Suh ------- 815 points
    Tebow ---- 390 points

Does anybody else think that the "dropoff" after which they should stop inviting guys was between Suh and Tebow? He had less than HALF of the points of the FOURTH place finisher. He was in NY b/c he's Tim Tebow, not b/c his vote total justified it.

For the record, I have no issue with him being there... but he should have attended as a former winner, not a current finalist.

true, he has won alot of awards, and well deserved. but the award for being the best college football player is missing from his resume.

I disagree... a little. The only award that matters will be determined on January 7th. Your comment will be true as of January 8 (I believe).
