2.7 3rz supercharger kits

Anybody running a low or high boost supercharger kit from LCE? I'm definitely interested in the kits and wondering what results people have had

I've been reading some threads there. I'm just interested in what it takes to install the kits. LCE states the ECU will compensate fuel and spark for low boost kit, and a piggy back fuel/spark management system with a 5th injector comes with the high boost kit.

Low boost is 4psi, high boost is 8psi. Also curious as to the long term affects of boost on these engines

 

Stock ecu will handle between 5-7 psi on the stock computer with a turbo or supercharger. To be safe I'd swap over to the pink top injectors from an 01-04. Not sure if they're already on the 3rz but of not swap over to the pink tops. I ran a supercharger for about a year with the high boost pulley and no engine management and it was fine after I pulled it off. I believe it was 8psi. I did have an upgraded fuel pump and injectors though. LCE is correct when saying that the stock ecu will compensate on low boost settings. Just install an afr sensor/gauge as a safe gaurd.

Wow, I typed pink top injectors into google and found a ton of info. Looks like a lot of people are running the pink tops and a bigger lift pump on the stock ECU with 8 psi or over.

 

I think they're safe up to 10psi but don't quote me on that. That's what I ran on my last turbo setup.

 

Hmmm, maybe I'll get the low boost kit with an 8psi pulley, and use the pink tops with an upgraded fuel pump, and see. It would be cheaper then the high boost kit with the 5th injector. You used 91 octane correct?

When you ran your turbo, did you do any sort of head work, like a new gasket and head studs?

 

Premium octane is a must.

 

Yeah 91 octane. No head work until after I got a nasty boost spike and blew the head gasket lol. I wasn't running a boost controller so the wastegate let it get up to like 20 psi haha. It currently has a metal cometic head gasket and arp head studs.

 

Did you have to get the block and head surfaced to get the metal gasket to seal?

 

Any idea where I can get the pink tops? Don't see a place to buy them

 

Head was brand new and just cleaned up the block.

 

Junk yard probably. I bought mine off of a member like 6 years ago lol. Paradise racing has some every once in a while.

 

I see LCE has a reconditioned set you can buy

 

that would be a good route to go. LCE is a very reputable company and wouldn't hesitate buying injectors from them. Mine were cleaned and flow tested by Paradise Racing.
