The 2nd line is just what they look at.

He's helping a member trying to find a truck by showing him a website that will search an entire region. This way he can go to his local dealer, say "I want this this and this, it's currently on this dealerships lot, can you trade for me" and be able to pick up the truck that he wants at a close dealer.

    Calm your tits.

well the 1st advice would be to get out of GST/SET region if you can :)

but that's just my opinion. been there done that, never again. I learned my lesson when I lived in GA back in the 80/90's.

WOW I have been talking to the dealers in the bay area and sacramento and they keep telling me they can't even meet between MSRP and inventory price. they say the truck is in too much demand for them to make that deal.

I'm just south of you in Yosemite. Same story here. After many phone calls and dealer website searches, it's pretty much true for this area. 2WD has some availability but when you look for 4WD and a specific color and trim... Keep looking... (Try Merced Toyota. Just got a call from the sales guy that says he had a couple coming in that we're close for ,y match, just not color-inferno)

And you think Minot's better? That's rich.

PS, I don't live in either of those areas. 2e15d9cbcd2d40873466f04aed91f9b8_976f9440a4bb74939450388763141c1d698ecd44.jpg

Southeast Toyota moves some trucks... They can
Try the end of the month when they are trying to cap their numbers (normal monthly sales cycle) or go a little further out from the city. Which typically is the opposite of where the deals are... But it seems the smaller dealers are the ones who are overlooked. They fed me the whole line of no one has them or can get them also. All I said was "well you have one and I want one, they opened a second plant to produce them for the first time in years so I guess I will have to wait until they catch up." Make sure they don't know how badly you want one. Every car I've ever sold was on emotion... And people pay out the ass when they think now or never

I negotiated a deal on Sunday and put down a deposit on a truck to be built. Can anyone tell me how soon I should know if Toyota accepted my order, and when to expect a build date? My dealership is telling me they will not have this information until the 16th, which is 10 days after I put down the deposit on the build. Does this seem right, or am I expecting information too soon?

10 days seems inline. You get your truck about 3 weeks after the build date. The build date depends on your config.

I appreciate the feedback. I found what I think was a great deal....but the salesman I've been working with wasn't very knowledgeable and isn't great at communication.

This thread helped out with dropping the price of my tacoma. I printed the price list an showed the dealer he matched as close as possible. I have what's on the list plus: leather seats ($995), remote start ($195), exhaust tip and cargo lights from factory (around $260 is what I was priced). For all these features the truck was $38,000ish I don't have the exact number I forgot it. I got a three month wait until it's ready though.

The farkles have started and on order
Just went to the Dealer the other day and looking at Tacomas This will be my 4th Toyota pick up and have to say this site has a load of information. I was looking for TRD SPORT DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO SB with JBL and Tech package and toe package. They were telling me to get the JBL in a Sport model is difficult to get in my region. But they have a Limited coming in with a tow package and a few accessories. The retail price is right in line with the first post and the offered to take $1000 right off the top of the price. Only add on would be tax, tag, and paperwork. Is this a good amount off the truck or should I be able to do better. The only other thing is to see how much the will give me on my trade in. 14 Tacoma with 35k on the odometer.

Make sure you make a deal before you talk about your trade!!!!!!! And you should be able to get more than 1,000 off. If I can get it for msrp out the door then I feel good about it.

I ordered my truck from a dealer in Oregon. The build date isn't until April 23. I spoke to Toyota of Merced. There is a guy there named Greg who was a good guy. He told me that I would be waiting a while if I ordered a sport dclb 4x4 through them but dcsb are a lot easier to come by. The price Greg quoted me was 750 over invoice. Got the deal done in Oregon for 250 below. You have to put out a lot of effort to land the truck you want at a fair price. Some dealers in SoCal won't discount the trucks at all off of msrp.
