Currently negotiating on a second gen Tacoma and have a few questions before I actually see it. I'm looking at a 2015 trd sport premium package. Wondering if the truck has some type of automatic mpg computer at all or just the trip and I have to manually calculate it? Also do the turn signals have the feature where you can press the switch without fully turning your signal on and it will blink three times? And is there a rear defroster on any model? I like the look of the 2ND gen better and just don't like the issues coming out with the 3RD get.

    Thanks!

Just the trip and do it manually,no triple blink and no defroster. I'm ha e a 2015 TRE Sport DCLB in Super White and wouldn't trade it for anything not even those fancy add ons

You will not get any of those things, and you will also not get any problems, but you will get the bigger stronger engine, along with a better transmission. I have a 2015 DCSB TRD Sport, and love it. The only thing that sucks about second gen Tacomas is their leaf springs.

I have to agree they're decent but you'll soon realize Toyota could've done better BUT very solid truck I'm 99% I'm keepin my 2nd gen for the long haul. (1% is just in case Toyota finally makes the Diesel engine available in the US)

Having test driven a 2016 I can attest to the weird transmission. Downshift to get up a hill but wouldn't upshift back to 6th unless I took my foot off the gas. I'm thinking get the 2015 and keep it for a few years and if things improve on the gen 3 over the next few years then consider upgrading. Thanks for the replies!

What is wrong with your leafs, mine are so bad Toyota has to replace my truck with a 3rd gen, which sucks because i really do not want a 2016.

Can't they just replace the leafs? Mine were squeaking from the first day I got the the manager said after I break it in it'll go away it never did and so I'm just going to go aftermarket

Same problem with mine, just the bushings keep wearing out everytime they replace them.

I got an app called FillUp and that works well for calculating mileage. Love my 2015, the thing hauls ass with the 4.0. You won't regret it.

Well, looks like the deal has been finalized. Buying a new 2015 TRD sport with premium package and sport trail teams package. Quite excited, one of the very few new 2015's still remaining!

Sorry maybe I've got the wrong name but I believe there are two trail teams packages, one for the OR and one for the sport. As per Toyota website this is what it comes with:
The 2015 Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab V6 may also be enhanced with the Trail Teams Sport Package, which adds: unique black side-step bars; TRD exhaust system; front skid plate; roof rack with cross bars; and Trail Teams Sport decals.
