I'm looking to do a 3" lift and probably change the exhaust. Will that void my warranty? The dealership was not sure if it would. I just have the factory warranty.

Do you need to know, or care?
    You're dealer doesn't know???

No, it won't void your warranty if the lift is not the cause of the failure.

Depends on the dealer. It could end up being a fight for you.

Yes (OP), there is some truth to this statement regardless of the MM Act. The dealer processes the warranty claims, and they can deny your claim based on your additions. This does not mean that your warranty was voided, it just means that the dealer chose, at their discretion, to not honor it for the particular issue based on their assumptions. You would then have to try other options like go to another dealer, possibly lawyer up, etc. (i.e. fight) to get them to "prove" that your mod caused the particular issue at hand. Otherwise they have to fix it under warranty.

But be clear, your overall warranty is unaffected regardless. Only something that can be proven to be caused by a particular modification is possibly voided. Lots of dealers put on lifts before even selling the truck with full warranty. Lots of companies warranty their aftermarket work, so you typically have everything covered.

And, just to be clear, no matter what happens, the dealer will claim that the modifications "could" have resulted in the failure.

    It depends on the dealer.
Get the general manager if someone at your dealer says he doesn't know.

To pile on, you lose warranty on the replaced parts for sure. But suspect (hope) you already figured that out.

Driveline issues that might occur related to the lift would quite likely be denied as well.
