I put a flow master 40 muffler on the 3.5 v6. No pipes (i.e. Runs to muffler and then turns down.) I will upload the video when I get wifi.

    Question

Will adding the pipes that will run from muffler to rear bumper help carry the drone out of the cabin ? Right now, the exhaust runs only to the muffler. And it sounds ok but it booms into cabin under acceleration.

    Second question

Is there a better option to the flow master on the 3.5? I know, y'all want a video and I'll get it up asap.

Flowmaster 40 series delta flow is quiter in the cab, I rode shotgun in @odinsbro 3rd gen that has it. I myself had the super 10, was very loud and spluterted was obnoxious at times, switched it out for the 40 series way better, i know about the drone in the cab your talking about.
Attached is a video of the super 10 just incase anyone asks.

Video is being slow to upload. But I was told adding the pipe will carry the sound back and out, rather than allow to echo under the truck.

Flow masters are one of the worst flowing muffler systems. To each their own, but most flowmaster setups tend to be loud and obnoxious for cabin noise. Turn downs drastically change the sound as its bouncing off the ground under the vehicle and not escaping as well as if you carried it out passed the rear axle. You get more drone with this setup.

That super 10 doesn't sound terrible, but my favorite I've heard on YouTube is the 44 so far

I've found the idle and rev of the 44 on youtube but have you seen one with someone actually driving? I found one but it was terrible quality. The 44 does sound nicest so far though

I am liking my pipe less 40. Really adds something. But without pipes, no wife/gf will respect the truck

Put tailpipes and a resonator tube on the Flowmaster. Nearly eliminated drone. And very quiet with some grunt but loud when you want it. Will post pics.

What's the break-in period for Flowmasters? I know with my
magnaflow I installed last year, it was like 700-1000 miles. The tone changed drastically over the break-in period. It was annoyingly loud and drone-y at first, then became bearable. Now it sounds like a decent exhaust. Post another bid after break-in period to compare.
