Note: bought a welding machine, make my own parts instead

Def considering this flip rack, seems like it is a good kayak/canoe options and when folded down it raises the sides of the bed height which should help deter my shepherd from standing on the sides of the bed (or at least keep him in the bed better). I haven't seen anything else like this and for $300 on sale seems pretty good for the money, but do I buy a welder instead and make my own version... hmmmm

    Thread I saw it in:

    Link to buy it:

Needed a permanent method of transporting the GSD when I need to go on the freeway so I bought a dog box and rattle canned it to go with the truck better since it will be back there 90% of the time now unless I'm hauling something big. It locks with a chain to one of the D rings in the side of the bed and once its pulled to the corner and locked its not easy to access the D ring to try to remove it so it should be fairly secure.

And here we go down the road of welding parts for my Taco. Excuse my shitty weld ; )

    wel.jpg

Going to start making something like this: Gonna need a little practice... I highly doubt I'll be able to bust something like this out in an afternoon. Should be fun though :sawzall::welder:
    TUF-1066.jpg

Got an idea for a 3 piece rack that is a headache rack like the one above, a simpler matching one for the rear of the bed and a long rectangular roof rack with some brackets for off road lights which can bolt in for transporting gear or a small fishing boat. Prob bit off more than I can chew with this one, down the road it should move right over to my 4x4 DCLB (1 more year!!!!)

Ok so I got it half done in an afternoon... :welder:

Still needs second half of the screen, the tabs on either edge at the top, and lots of grinding, then paint

Still struggling with the drop in approach angle if you add a brush guard like this, seems like having a lifted truck is the only way to avoid that issue... hmmmm :mudding:

Love your SR build and the fact you made it a GSD build also! Lol...

My dad was a K9 MP in the Air Force and he kept his dog when he left so I grew up with that breed in and all over the place. Hahaha...
