Did you freeze the adapter the night before?

 

No. Took very little effort. Freezing the slug adapter and heating the spindle and it might go in with almost no effort.

 

Sweet! Thanks, may as well do LBJ's since I have to take the entire spindle off.

I know this was posted a while back but what are the PN for the bolts on the LBJ's?

I don't have TC UCAs, but when I pressed in the slug adapters for my LR UCAs I was able to use an impact gun and rented ball joint press (which I now own since they accidentally didn't charge me for it and when I brought it back the clerk told me to keep it). didn't have to take the spindle off.

 

Well is that about as wide as a 285? 11.5 ish is a 285 I think

What is the bungee on the bumper for?

 

Yeah, skinny tires are hard to find, but they are out there. Years ago, I used a BFG M/T of that size for a spare. Only had to use it once, when I ripped out a sidewall on the Rubicon.

 

Thanks Embarrassingly the bungee is there as a makeshift bushing so I don't hear the bumper hitting the fenders over bumps. I've gotta reinforce the mounting points this summer so it doesn't move so much.

You might double check whether you need the ones with the washers or with the flange bolts. Mine still uses the washers. I thought I read somewhere that the flange bolts were done as part of the recall...or maybe it was vice versa.

 

I'm fairly sure mine are flange bolts, but I'll double check

 

Continuing with my previous logic, it's exactly 10mm narrower. First number is section width in mm, so dividing by 25.4 gets you width in inches; theoretically. Different tires from different manufacturers in the same size will vary more than that 10mm. Then comparing to standard sizes will confuse things even more. Go measure your 33" tall 285s, they're probably not much over 31 mounted.

 

Could this be a sign of wheel bearing going out?
Have excessive grease on caliper always

 

I knew there was a math for metric size to inches but didn't know it for height! I'm sure they are around 32ish but not much more and that's why I think I'm gonna go with 295's next, which will still probably be another couple years though. Just want more tire and with that comes more hammering lol!

 

That looks like its coming from the banjo bolt to me. Check you brake fluid levels and see if its loose/ leaking
