So the question becomes, what's in the pipe?

:D superheated steam and saturated steam. varying pressures. 1200* max temp in the superheated lines. not that it makes a difference in the bevel/counterbore, but it's a carbon to chrome joint, with the CS pipe having the thicker wall (same ODs).

All I can say will you be getting quite a bit more work needing this expensive tooling ??

Buying or renting these costs are included in the bid??

4 billion dollar job, with pipe accounting for 60% of the manhours. the tool will probably be worn out and replaced many times over. my team is just the first group to need it.

no laying off going on around here for a long time. termination papers for the incompetent guys, sure, but the fitters and welders who can pull their own weight will be working 5-7 days a week for the next year, before any ramping down is even on the horizon.

Is there any tips on how to clean the feeding tip on a wire feed welder? It seems to be carbon build up on the spring below the nozzle is building up and making it stick. If that makes sense..

Get some antispatter gel for the tip, keep an eye on the tip and break the build up off whenever it gets a bit much(just grab the build up with pliers and it'll come right off) , increase your stick out a little and don't drag the nozzle in the weld.

Your getting Carbon Build up on the end of the liner??

I can understand Splatter if your not dialed in quite right

I just tap the gun once in awhile

Very seldom Do I ever think to use Nozzle dip

    Carbon that`s new

Lose Contact tip in the Tip Adapter (Gas Diffuser )

What kind of gun are you using ??

    Are you welding Aluminum??

I dont know a whole lot about welding...but its just a plain jane lincoln wire feed, no gas weld so it seems to be not as clean as with gas. It just seems like its not feeding as fast as it should for the setting and I put new tips on it is why Im wondering if something is getting dirty. Or maybe the trigger is getting worn out?

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Yeah X2 i would change all the consumables check the drive rollers. You could have a kink in the liner causing feed issues.

I have a felt wire cleaner on my wire to get rid of all the dust and shit before it goes into my liner. You might want to look into one. Sounds like a dirty liner. You can sometimes blow them out with compressed air. For $20 I put a new one in once in a while.

I've never been a fan of the felt pads i feel it causes drag and feed issues. I just change the liners on my migs every few spools.

Mine is a little circular deal with a slit in it that floats on the wire. I've never had an issue with it slowing me down.

Over the years I have picked up those lube kits only to set it down and find it years later.

Some people love them and can`t weld without them.

Depends how you store your gun when not in use gun removed and wire out ??

Wire rusting in the liner can be interesting
