Just saw @tyfoon11 out here in benicia.
You asked me when I'm going to be doing my suspension and i started answering but then the light turned green I was saying I'm going to be doing leaf packs this next coming week (thats the plan) and other then that I have no clue what my plan is

 

Just goes to show how many people these dealerships get over on. Im not bashing all dealerships but this one checked the box on my do not trust list.

 

he has a twin here in town too. I just ran to starbucks and he was at work when i left, gone when i returned

Yeah he was leaving work when I saw him he pulled off to take a pic off my truck and then I pulled up and we chatted for a couple minutes

and then on my way back I saw a look alike by the taco truck on military and the so that he was back at work in the lot

and phil don't listen to him the truck looks better dirty

That's the bad part about dealerships, a lot of the advisors are just salesman. And know very little about mechanics

 

Me too. Do you know if these open the the hood higher then what the factory rod does? I'm worried about my ditch lights hitting the windshield.

 

I had them on my first gen, and it was the first mod I did on the 2nd gen last summer. 2nd gens hoods are even heavier, yo. And so nice to not have that prop rod in the way when working.

 

Good Q! No idea. I'd imagine the same but others can chime in.

 

On @tacomgee 's they didn't open as high. We couldn't put the prop rod in after the struts were installed. It's not enough less to worry about IMO.

x2. I found them to open just a little less than prop rod height.

 

Yeah off the top of my head I can't remember the exact height. It's just awesome to pop the hood and it goes up by itself and stays up. First mod on the truck, best one ever for engine work. I have definitely knocked the prop rod out before and had the hood crash down on my back. Ouch.

 

Do they hold the hood firm. Wind won't push it down? I have had this on my list of todos for a long time.

 

Nah, that hood ain't moving. And if the wind does happen to push it down, it's a hurricane and you should probably run.

 

I was hoping to be able to still use the prop rod if I wanted too for those "just in case" situations.
