Low budget is subject to interpretation. How much, 2k? 3k?

Here comes the shit storm. If you want performance you won't lift it 6", something more like 2.5-3".

How long have you had the truck?

Are you a capable 4wd driver? With this truck? It does take time to master the vehicle under multiple terrain conditions. Including getting stuck some.

You say you want performance, not looks. So you need to analyze what the truck has problems with, for how you use it, and then adjust that problem area. As adjustments are made, new driving criteria will come into effect, and you'll need additional adjustments or reach a point of satisfaction that it does what you need it to do.

For some driving conditions, maybe. But the axles centerline are no higher than the radius of the tires. So your low point is still pretty low.

I'm talking about problems when you offroad. Getting stuck. Hitting stuff that a lift might allow you to get over, etc. Problems with approach and decent angles. Tires that get tread packed and loose grip. etc. If you're not having issues, leave it alone. It's performing just fine for how you use it.

Because you like the look? You said you wanted performance?

Look at Icon Vehicle Dynamic Suspension. The suspension kits are on both a 2001 and 2014 Tacoma and a 2004 4Runner in my family and I'd say for the little extra money, I'd say that it's completely worth it. Most comfortable ride I've experienced. If you want to get some more lift and carrying capacity, then look at the OME Dakar Leaf Springs. Super flexible and if you want to, there's an AAL for more carrying capacity, but only really if needed.

In terms of tires/wheels, a great combo, IMO, has always been KM2s on TRD FJ Cruiser Wheels. If you want to go a more aggressive look, MTRs on a set of SCS SR8s. Might be a bit more pricey then you'd want to spend, but I'd rather spend a bit more now compared to later.

THOUGH... Just stay away from 6" DB Lift Kits and Body Lifts. They're terrible and will not do anything to help you in terms of performance. IMO, they look really dumb. If you really want 6"+ of lift, then best way to go would be to SAS, but that's $30K easy. I digress though.

Of course we were. But even way back then we used punctuation when we wanted to be taken seriously. Unless you are doing low budget haikus too. I don't know anything that shit.

    I get you now,
    Well the times I've gone
I've scraped a little under the truck
    Never got stuck
    Thank gOd

Well that's the look of like it to look like in the end

But if 6 inches ain't worth it then I take your advice and go for like a 3' or maybe 4'

    I've been looking at icon
    But DAMN$$$ haha

What y'all think of fabtech ??

Icon and Old Man Emu are the only ones I have experience with. Old Man Emu is rather veritable and a slightly better alternative if you don't want to spend a a ton of money. I'd still lean towards ICON though.
