Is the door fully retracted? If it's on an opener, you can adjust how far back the door is pulled. My truck with the roof lights barely cleared when I moved in, I adjusted it to go further back and now have zero issue.

But otherwise, if it's the top trim board, you're up a creek, because even if you went back down to 265/70, you wouldn't gain 2". How far does your LED bar sit above the roof?

the light bar actually sits lower than the highest point on the roof rack. i'm short so it's hard for me to measure exactly, but it looks like my roofrack is about 75" at the highest point. i'll have to look closer tomorrow at how the garage door sits. i ran by the house tonight and measured real quickly

This. Install those auto inflators that are on the really ridiculously expensive Mercedes 6x6.

Yeah, you'd fit a standard garage with no issue (my house was built in the 70's and I clear, even lifted) but the ones that are in a cellar are much tighter.

I know, I know, but I needed a half ton.

Being a surveyor myself I can second both of those situations. Hammering anything in the ground in the winter sucks.. Only upside is you stay warm!

I just got the under garnishes for the CX-5. It's going to be a bit more of a project fitting them than I had originally anticipated, but I think they will turn out nice when I'm done. I fit the LED DRL fog lamp surrounds this weekend. It's already almost done, but I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.

To those that have caps, have any of you built a mount to hold it in the ceiling of a garage? I'm looking at pulling my cap off pretty soon for the spring/summer/fall, and don't want to store it outside under my deck, if at all possible.

Has anyone done a Harken Hoister, or equivalent?

I'd love to do something like this:
    258_463b9b5ff0dcdf9c9d69805625c09d5f32ba754b.jpg

Ultimately, I'd probably a set of 2x6 under the cap, using the cap's bolt points to bolt it to the 2x6 before hoisting it up. I'd put in a redundant holding system as well.

My father has a setup similar to that. He has his hard top for his jeep on it. My mother typically parks her bmw under it. It's a really slick setup. I'll take pics when I stop over there this weekend.

Mike, in my next house, I will rig a system like that. My truck doesn't fit into my current garage. And definitely s redundant system, a hoist to raise it, then a chain to keep it up there, not relying on the pull-ups and cables for anything other than lifting/lowering. Also, since I'd be doing it solo, I would do like you described, lift half the cap, slide a 2x6 under it. I'd have the 2x6 wider than the cap with eyes in the ends for lifting.

Exactly. I figure the Leer setup for the Tacoma has 4 bolts that go down through into the rail system adapters. I will just drill holes in the 2x6 and bolt the cap to them, then use the eyelets to lift. I'd throw a few extra safeties up there. The only thing is to figure out the best way to hook it into the garage with my lights. I'd probably have to re-arrange them to work, but it would be nice to be able to remove it without too much issue. I like the cap for the winter since I've lost my garage spot, but I'm too much of a BTTF geek to not run my light bar in the non-winter seasons.

I second checking the door itself at its raised point.

Decide too how much you have to have the roof rack. I'm guessing you'd not want to part with it b/c I don't see it on your original truck pic though. That may not make the difference even at 2" off, would still be damn close.

I'm trying to visualize it having lived on a hill before but the part near the door was pretty much level. Is the driveway steep right at the garage? Maybe it is possible to get it in by either just backing in or driving in.

Re the width, I find it as 74.6 inches wide for the double cab. Measure that first on your door. That might end up not working and if that's the case your height is no longer the sticking point.

Stock height is 70.1 if that helps at all.

I agree with all you that people who bangout from work due to self inflicted hangovers suck. If you can't hang don't party...

What really drives me nuts is when people take credit for your work. Such as tonight a coworker assisted with a situation I initiated. They arrived as backup and ended up doing something I asked them to resulting in what I had expected and told them to expect. She later transported a person while I was still tied up. So she reassigned the paper work in her name to get the credit.
Wtf... If your going to pull shit like that don't offer to help.

If I didn't have the light bar plus the roof rack I'd probably take it off. But it was a lot of trouble/money to just end up getting rid of it. I found a 2 car garage for rent in Pawtucket. Maybe I could find someone to split it with me

For any of you that were thinking about suspension. I just got an email from ARB. They are sending back up to $150 if you purchase specific systems

Probably be cheaper to modify the garage to fit

I'm going to see if raising the garage door would help any. I didn't measure the overall opening when I was there, just the door clearance.

Sweet! I wish OME had products for the F150, I'd throw the Nitrochargers on the back.
