A few more questions for you. How do the kings ride? Did you get the extended travel versions? Truck looks great.

Sounds like some of you guys had the same troubles I had. I didn't even think about upgrading until I got a letter from my old dealership offering a good trade in value. So I checked and found out I had positive equity so the hunt was on for a new Tacoma TRD OR with a stick. Apparently here in Southern California everyone swoops them up before they get off the truck so, of course, a novel idea turned into an obsession checking every dealership nearby day and night. Every time I found one, it was either already gone or it was in the process of being gone. I did find a MGM one in San Diego but it was stuck in port for a couple weeks so I decided to bite the bullet and look out of state. Luckily there was one in Prescott, AZ, that was Bacelona Red which was my initial color choice. I called over Presidents Day weekend and asked if they'd hold it for me and luckily they did since the truck was parked at the general manager's house. I made the trek out to Prescott but once I got there they said the buy-back manager had already left for the night so without any necessities nor even a phone charger, I stayed the night in Prescott at Toyota's expense. The next day I traded in the old taco (2013 regular cab) for my dream truck. With such a rare vehicle it's hard to really negotiate pricing other than $500 off for Presidents' Day, but this is 'Merica and we take things for free when we can so I made them throw in a free bed extender.

Hi newb here, just took a '16 TRD OR with a stick for a spin today. Quite impressed with the truck as a whole and the manual made the world of difference in a 40mph headwind, shifting when I wanted to. Soooooo much better than the GM twins and the quality of the interior is much better than the 2nd gen. I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer regarding the '17 TRD PRO.

 

Where are you? I would like to come and purchase the truck you drove today. lol

I'd be amazed if true and although I am almost 100% against extended warranties, I would actually consider that one if it wasn't insanely expensive.

I've heard of these warranties and the truth of the matter is most folks don't hang onto vehicles long enough to take advantage of the warranty.

 

He forgot to mention the Lifetime Drivetrain warranty that Rhinelander Toyota offer is free with a new car purchase.

By the way I wouldn't have it any other way than with a stick.

 

Looking at a 16 MT. And was wondering what offroad features you lose going to a MT over a AT? Been hearing a lot issues with the new AT. And I already hate my 12 AT.

It looks like push to start is not a option either. Atleast I have yet to see it

 

Push button start is not an option on the manual, however push start is only available on the manual . I tried it out the other day and it started just like any other manual I have push started.
