    On May 9, 1980 my Mom and I had just went through the Toll booth Southbound when that bridge was it by the Summit Venture that Friday morning I think it was on our way down to the Bishop Planetarium for a High School astronomy program......

    I remember we stopped @ about the Northside park area after the report coming over the radio WQYK and DOT vehicles rushing that way from the toll booth that the Sunshine Skyway had been hit...

    As far as I know the key bridges were done. The shuttle I took was a boat. Straight shot down to the keys.

    If you are in the Southwest area of Fl the Ferry's are the best way to go have done it a few times drive from Tampa to Ft Myers beats that 6 plus hr drive.... Plus once I hit the boat its drink on!!!
