Revtek spacer lift and blocks. 285/70/17 on 17x9
first post here. I have dug around for quite some time before deciding to ask my questions. I have a 2004 Tacoma 4wd trd. I bought it with a revtek spacer lift on the front and what appears to be about 1-1/4" blocks on the rear. The truck has 285/70/17 tires. I am wanting to put a better lift on the truck, and am considering the ome kit with the Dakar springs(2-1/4" lift). Should I go with the 881 or 883. The truck as it sits is slightly lower in the rear. Not much, but noticeable by me. The fender gap is also a little closer in the rear. I would like the truck to sit more level. Does anyone know of how much actual lift the revtek kit provided? This is what I believe to be the first generation revtek spacer that required strut/spring disassembly. Sorry to drag this on, but I just want to have all available info before forking out $$ for a lift. Any suggestions appreciated.

That spacer lift is either 2" or 2-1/2" in the front IIRC. I'm inclined to think 2-1/2".....To get equal lift, you want 885X's for 2-1/2", or 884's for 2". If you put Dakars on the rear, You're gonna want 884's at a minimum IMHO. The Dakars will get you closer to 2-1/2 or 2-3/4" rear lift (from stock) Most spacer lift kits I'm familiar with come with 1" blocks.

Best advice I can give....disregard ALL the "numbers" from the spacer lift, install a complete package of front AND rear components and get the "specs" you want. Call Marie @ Headstrong Offroad and she'll set you straight on what you need to get the desired ride height numbers.

I did 885X's for 2-1/2"+ in front with a 2" AAL and have the rear end sitting about 3/4" higher than the front. (Rear end already sits higher in stock config.)

So I bought a set of rear ome springs with the 2.25" lift. The thought was that I would get rid of the stock leafs with the blocks in hopes of reducing or eliminating the rear driveline thud. At the suggestion of shop where I purchased the springs, they suggested removing the second overload which I did. When doing the install, I finished the passenger side first, which only measured about .5" higher than old stock leafs with the 1.25" block. I then tackled the driver side and was stopped by the seized front spring bolt. I couldn't cut it because I didn't have a replacement. Ordered it from the dealer. I had to put it all back to the way it was before. One other thing I noticed was that the wheel position in the wheel well was 1" further forward than before with the stock leafs. Is this normal?
