My turbo must be pretty small because it starts to spool at 1500rpm, makes boost about 2k and pulls to redline. I went to the desert yesterday and got a video clip with the go pro in the same area hitting roughly foot and a half whoops at 50mph. I'll get through that video today or tomorrow. The truck is a lot quieter right now because I closed up my exhaust cutout. I ears thank me after a 12 hour day.

Truck is a lot quieter here, but I really don't give the truck that much throttle. @Ryyan got me doing a fly by when he gets his video online. LOL, cheap window roller won't keep my window up.

So are you confident that your tune is solid and where you want it, now that it has been some time?

It's still a pretty rough reliable base tune. Haven't had time to touch the tune with all these desert trips lately. One thing I noticed is my tune gets a little bit more rich with my cutout open. I haven't logged to be sure of it, but I might need to delete the cat because I'd hate to make 2 different tunes for when I want to show off or fly under the radar.

I want to pull off a few more emission stuff to make the motor even more simple. Also those 550cc injectors are still sealed up. Also I haven't hooked up the knock sensor to log knock which is a large priority before I crank up the boost. The only way I can assume knock retard is if my timing makes a dip and recovers. I pulled about 1 to 4 degrees timing already to where I think is a good spot, but I want to be sure. Goal is ~300whp, but I'm getting there slowly because I'm not sure if everything can handle it. I have one more meet this weekend coming up which is a mellow trail run. I should have some time after that to start beefing more stuff up. I'll stay up on the updates to let you know how I can get the power to the ground better. It is crazy that ~200whp makes the truck kick sideways already.

Man, I wish I knew how to tune better. I'm wanting to turn up my boost controller slowly to 20ish. I'm at 10psi now with no issue. Imma raise it a few clicks and see what my AFR does.

Make sure your injectors can supply enough fuel for that expected crank hp.

Truck sounds awesome and looks to be really smooth. Your the 2RZ/3RZ champ. I wish I had my truck for some of these trips.

Just get used to your tuner. Do a 3rd gear pull to see if you have enough injector. You have a fic? Can those log to a computer? Do some pulls to get used to things. I wouldn't just turn up the boost. They probably didn't tune your fuel table for pressure higher than what you are running. If you have access to your tune getting used to things is the best and make small changes. You might need to back off on some timing even with meth. It is a good rule of thumb. This is super condensed, but if you want to get into self tuning it is a very rewarding experience. Just slow and careful. You get half way decent you can get close to what guys do on the dyno. Let me know if you have questions.

It's doing well. I'm going to need to take it down soon for a cage. It's a little too fast for me now. I can hit that section probably almost 70mph and would like a cage before going faster than what you see. I'm collecting cage stuff now.

Smart move to get a cage. Go 1.75" .120 for your cage. My little truck can barely hit 70 with 5.29 gears.

20psi on a stock motor? You want to blow it up?

Yeah, hooks up to pc. Got to download the software for it. Already dyno tuned to 310whp but I told them at 10psi. Dude I knew ran 24psi with no issues injecting butt loads of methanol on his 4 runner but I've also heard stories of grenading at that. It's handling 10 without flinching so I may figure out this tuning thing at some point.

A crap ton of meth or doing e85 you can get away with a lot of power on a stock block. Just need to not knock so those head bolts don't stretch. Of course it's a risk, but every turbo build is a risk.

    This is my build goal:
Turbo 2rz, fully caged, lots of suspension and pretty light.

Highest I have seen on a stock 2rz was about 15psi. Tuned by @speedfreek . He can explain in accurate detail.

I dug through deep on his build. He did a great job and inspired a lot of toyota build. Mine is only going to ~15psi after that things get expensive. I'd would need to look into a standalone, r series or chevy transmission, motor building and 9" rear end. Or scrap all that and v8.

is400, v8. If mine blows I might go this route but I see a ton of headaches waiting with something like that. Might as well bulletproof the 3.4 to 700hp.
