Zero grit. Feels as smooth as a brand new bearing.
Come on out and look at it :D

Haha. There really wasn't much metal on the underside of the piston. Nearly all of it seemed contained into the cylinder. Not saying there wasn't any, but it just was right on the surface of the crank weights. Zero metal in the head or anywhere else which makes me think the motor stopped way before the pump has a chance to push it through anything.

So what you're saying is worst case I'd actually better for me?!? Haha. At least it'd be totaled.

I'm in ks so a shop in Ohio is a lil far out for me.

You would probably have to ship it to a competent machine shop anyways- so ohio would be as good a place as any-
As far as it locking up with you on it- probably not ideal-
If it was my bike- under the circumstances i would fix it once and fix it right or throw a top end on it and sell it- thats just me.

If you think it's ok then fuck it throw a top-end on it and ride the piss out of it. Just weigh each choice (to do the bottom-end or not), accept the decision and roll with it. Paranoia spreads like a virus, if this is mostly for around town and Sumo I want to say just put a top end, replace the cam and cam bridge and roll with it.

With my bikes I'm frequently alone and miles from help in remote and challenging terrain where I'd be in big and potentially life threatening trouble if I broke down so I tend to be a bit anal on the maintenance side.

Blow your eardrums out, too. Straight-piped exhaust exiting right below the handlebars? Get on the throttle; go deaf.

    So like most Harleys? Lol.

Well I'm taking my chances after sleeping on it and bringing the head/cams to a guy at work who used to race dirt bikes a lot, I only placed an order for a new jug/piston (aka big bore). The intake cam and cap we both think should be OK to run still since it can't be "hooked" with a fingernail.

Here's to hoping for the best next week.

    Good luck.
Don't pull out into traffic on it for a few weeks after your rebuild, lol.

Negative. You can keep the frame, motor, seat, and gas tank.

Fuck it. Might as well. I'll offer $50 for it to help fund the rebuild. ;)

Oh, you can keep the wiring harness, dash, headlight, bars, helmet lock, and controls. I could use the subframe...cut it shorter and take the helmet lock plate off.

I already cut the helmet lock off.

Ordered some goodies for the Grom. Integrated tail light, front signal mounts to run after market, and LED flasher relay from mnnthbx. Almost ordered their dual under exhaust

    Oh it's necessary:devil:

I don't like the one on there now, but nothing really wrong with it.
