Awesome! Last time I was at Medano there was a corral panel gate right on top! We can probably make it though! Not as much snow as I thought on these northern sangres.

We had 3 days of awful wind. Most of the snow went away. That cattle pannel must have been a temporary thing. There are a lot of people who get stuck in that road a and straight up destroy it so the park service has to close it a lot for maintenence. Granted the mainenence is just to prevent mud bogs or really deep ruts. They leave most of the stuff untouched.

I heard that last year the east side got a lot harder. Some guy in a sequoia told me my lifted 4runner couldn't make it but he did. Lol

If you do medano it is worth it to go to the falls south of the dune field.
It is a national park, so no. They are fun as hell to climb around on.

Never heard of the falls but I came up the east side last year in August and it wasn't bad! Idk what that guy was talking about. When was that?

It's hard to have one of those on a day you're working from home. Still manage sometimes though, just not today.

As Mr Optimist said, you can only drive on the road through the edge of the dunes at Great Sand Dunes NP. However, we do have a smaller patch up here at the other end of the state called the North Sand Hills that you can drive around on.

First Saturday in April. I may not be able to do that. May catch the group before everyone turns around.
