SCS SR8 wheels 16x8 & 17x8.5

These wheels are clean, well made, and I get compliments EVERYWHERE I go. The fact Vin stands behind everything he makes is a HUGE thing to me.

 

What size are those, if you don't mind me asking? And do you have a lift, spacers, etc?!

 

17" SR8 on 265/70/17 BFG KO2s. No lift (yet) and no spacers needed. 2.5-3" lift is coming. Waiting on a few things to line up. The SCS Wheels are hub-centric and made specifically for the Toyota.

With the KO2s, I get a tiny bit of rub at a specific angle on left turns (into driveways) due to the knobs on the tires. The area it is touching is a plastic inner fender piece that doesn't cause an issue. Just a minor annoyance until I slap the lift on. Even a 1/2" spacer lift would solve it. Hell, maybe even a 1/4". I believe the folks running the 265/70/17 Duratracs are not getting the issue. My buddy just purchased a set of the SR8s and put on 265/65/17 KO2s and he is NOT getting the rub. YMMV due to the stock ride on your specific truck, though.

 

Interesting. Thanks a lot for the info and your input! Looking into getting wheels but a bit scared because I see and read different things, so not exactly sure what to do, or what I need. I want to keep my stock suspension for now, no lift or anything like that, maybe spacers if really need be, and kind of going for a mall krawl look, so really looking into these wheels. I have the stock 17" Sport wheels now so really want to keep that size if possible.

 

Unless you want your wheels to stick out REALLY far, you don't need spacers. The SCS Wheels extend beyond the fender approximately 1" without flares. Less so with them.

You can rock these on stock suspension without a problem. It's the tires that you just have to be cautious about.

Don't stress! Just buy them!

Yeah I struggled between SR8's and Stealth 6 for a while and ended up going with the Stealth 6... tires going on it next week!

Now to make matters worse Vin will eventually be rolling out some super top secret new model called a Ray 10 although he hasn't shown any pics yet

Anyone know what size bf Goodrich all terrain would fit the 17s on an fj with lift?

 

Depends on lift. Probably 265/70/17, maybe 285/70/17, but youd probably have to remove some stuff and cut back

Do the stock tpms sensors out of the Trd sport wheel swap over? If so, is there any complications or neccessary steps to do this?

did the same here. couldn't make up my mind. ended up getting stealth 6 with machined lip and love them but when I come on here and see pics of trucks with SR8's I wish I had got them.
