Any issues with that tire size as far as rubbing or power loss ? I would be coming from 275/70/17

    Thanks

I came from that size too and I like these are a lot better. I had rubbing at first so I bought UCA's and told the alignment shop to get me 4 degrees of caster and that gave me enough clearance even without a CMC. I actually felt like I gained a little bit of power when I went to these because I went from an E rated tire to a D rated tire. Overall, I am very pleased with this size.

Whats the BS of your wheels ?

Those are D rated in that size ?

I'm mostly interested in the KO2 for the severe weather rating ( snowflake ) because by law you need to run those here in some areas in winter

4.30" BS. And yes they only come in D. Took these up to the sierras multiple times this winter and these are hands down the best tire I've driven in the snow

    Good to know

I was hoping to run them on my stock Sport alloys without wheel spacers . They essentially are 265/80/17 so I should clear my UCAs cause I do with my 275's

I'm running 275/70/r17 with an E load and was told to keep the psi at 44 from the tire shop. Anyone suggest a different psi? Seems like a lot of people are running around mid-low 30's but I do a lot of freeway driving with about 800lbs. in the bed.

I need new tires and am having a tough time deciding between 275/70r17 load E and 265/70r17 load C. Is the extra 0.6" height worth the 9lbs each? I currently run 265/70r17 KOs in load C. I like that my truck rides like a truck with 885x and Dakars, but I couldn't imagine liking it too much stiffer. I do carry quite a bit of weight with a full-time RTT, shell, Hilift, 2 batteries, etc. Ive wanted the bigger 275 tires for a while, but am now leaning toward the 265s because I'm having trouble justifying an MPG loss and stiffer ride. Can anybody who's stepped up from 265 to 275 comment on MPG loss or feel of the switch? Is the size difference that noticable?

Disclaimer: I've checked out the last 30 or so pages of this thread. I saw mixed feelings about my questions, so somebody please help me make up my mind.

I don't think you'd really feel much difference between c and e rated personally. P and e rated, definitely. I've got e rated 275/70/17 ko2s on my FJ and while they are stiffer than the passenger rated highway tires that were on it I don't feel they are uncomfortable at all. I do notice a difference when going from my FJ the wifes T4R with p rated cooper at3's, but it rides plusher to begin with.

Honestly it's personal preference as far as ride quality is concerned. Tacoma is a truck and people seem to forget that amd want it to ride like a caddy.

As far as the weight savings, if you need the extra sidewall strength get E rated. I'd be willing to bet that C rated would serve 85% + of the people on this site more than adequately.

Anyone have any real-world knowledge on the MPG loss difference between C rated and E rated KO2s?

You would have to do a chalk test to confirm right tire pressure for weight. I run 40 in my duratracs but they are 275/60r20. Not a 17.

Didn't read all 67 pages, but anyone running the 34x10.5 ko2 can you report your mpg?
Im running 285/75r16 ko2's and my mpg is always 15 mpg mixed and 16 hwy.
Probably negligible difference but wondering if the width difference would make an impact?

    Cheers

285/75/16 Nice quiet A/T, I ran 33" KO's on my old dodge raider that i had so i kinda knew what to expect from these tires being that the tread pattern is pretty much the same. First time with the E rated tire but i wouldn't say the ride is harsh

For those interested, I ended up going with the 275/70/17's. Havent really noticed a power loss in the few miles I drove back home, but I think I can feel the extra 9lbs/tire in my brakes/braking distance. Time will tell how the MPG suffers. Ride is not noticeably harsher that 265/70/17 C rated. Truck handles nicely and they look bad ass. I didn't know whether I would be able to notice a difference in the size, but they definitely look a little bigger than my 265/70/17 KO's. Could be the new tread/depth, but I'm happy so far.
