Does your clutch make an "arrrrnch" noise when depressed/released?

Mine seems to have just started doing this. 2015 with 8,300 miles.

 

like a loud heavy old door with out lubed up hinge??

 

Mine used to sound like an old man taking a dump under my dashboard but it stopped or it was and he's died

I suffer of this as well, 2012 6spd with 49k on the clock. Sometimes it isn't too bad, other times it's terrible, just haven't gotten around to looking for the culprit.

 

If you get some white lithium grease spray and put a small amount between the clutch pedal and the plunger going to the slave, the sound should disappear, at least for a while.

It only takes two minutes and a squirt or two of lithium grease.

** I didn't mean "plunger" in my original post, it is more of an adjustment link. It is the rod with the adjustment nuts on it. Just lube it at the top where it mates with the clutch pedal. Go easy on the grease, it does not take much.

 

Mine has done this since about 5,000 miles. I have 9,800 on it right now. Mine only does it when it is hot in the cab. I have done the lithium grease and it does work for about a month and then needs it again. It just started doing it again actually so I will be lubing it up again soon.

 

I'll try the spray, thank you. Seems to do it more when it gets hot in the truck, like windows up while at work on a hot day.

 

Yeah mine gets so bad I can feel it in my leg. It's really annoying.

 

Right on, same here. I will lube her up later on tonight......and I'll also spray the clutch. Ba-dum-dum....tssss!

 

My clutch did the same thing. I brought it to the dealer seeing how it is still under warranty, and they said it had something to do with the clutch master cylinder if I remember correctly and replaced it.

 

1. there's a TSB out for squeaky clutch. Check it out, I had mine repaired under the TSB.

2. started to squeak again. If you look over the pedal, there's a metal spring. Lube the sh!t out of it and it'll stop talking to you.

I took truck with 5k miles to dealer. they replaced some stuff for 700 dollars under warranty and it went away.

 

Search for "clutch creak" and you'll find many sources of the noise as well as solutions. Usually the pivots at what Toyota calls the "clevis" are the source of the noise from dried out grease. Find out if it's coming from the outside or inside. If it's outside most likely it's the slave cylinder piston. If you go deep in water often, definitely check it out. Otherwise if it's inside, you can try rotating the clevis/plunger/piston then pump the clutch a few times, repeat. That might make it go away for awhile. It's a known issue. That and the stupid fragile rear window door latch.
