Opinion on what tacoma to buy

I am going to buy a truck soon. And that truck is going to be a Tacoma. I am pretty new to all things Tacoma (and trucks really) but going to jump in anyway.

I have narrowed it down to 2 (with a possible fringe 3rd option being a new 2016 off road tacoma.)

Which of these options would you buy. They are essentially the exact same price (with in a couple hundred)

1. Used 2015 Tacoma off road. 7000 miles. - Pretty straight forward 2015. drives great and super low miles.

2. Used 2013 T/X Pro 16000 miles - This is the one I love. For some strange reason I love the sound of the muffler and the wheels. But I am a super noob to all of this so perhaps this doesn't make sense. shouldn't I get the newer one with less miles for the same price?

3. on the fringes . . . I suppose I could get a brand new 2016 for 4k more. though i hear the smaller engine isnt as great or at least is un-testested . . .

I don't really want to start a long winded conversation. Just give me your first gut instinct! 1 2 or 3???

 

A Tacoma will last long enough that you can make the mods to the exhaust and wheels on the 2015, and get the sound and look you like, AND have a truck that will last for years!

 

I owned a 2012 version of option #2. Great truck but, for the same price, a 2 year newer truck with 9k less miles AND will be under factory warranty longer...it would be my first choice (if I could talk myself out of a new one).

 

What do you want to do with the truck?
