2016 Tacoma Fin Removal.

Does anyone know how to get the Fin out of the top of the new tacomas? I see a huge bolt in there I just can't seem to get a tool up there to get the bolt off.. Does anyone know of anything that worked for them?

 

Just out of interest, what's your plan or reason?

 

When you say fin, are you talking about the radio antenna?

I am planning on wrapping my Roof matte black to match my Hood Graphic.

Yes planning on take it off wrapping my Roof and are-Installing the fin I'll definitely post pictures! Can't wait to see it done then I am hoping to do a side matte graphic kinda like the ford raptor stripe on the side.

I'd be blacking out the grill too, FTW! Maybe blacking out down low on the sides where the curve starts .. that would look pretty cool on a white truck. Storm trooperish.

Looks very cool. Much better than the lame decal toyota has. If toyota came up with something like this they would sell it. To much out of the box for them. Great job

 

Id be curious how hard it is to remove just the skewp and plastidip black.
Is this plastidip or a decal/painted?

We didn't remove the fin, just cut a slotted hole and went around it.

 

The hood scoop comes off super easy just a couple bolts and it pulls right off. I used vinyl for mine. Lasts longer than plasti dip.

 

Usually fin style antennas are bolted from the inside of the roof. Drop the headliner and remove bolt/nut

 

Remove nut with 7/8 wrench unplug wire in passenger rear corner. They have to clips on the shaft after you remove the nut and it with pop right off.

 

That truck would look killer with the roof blacked out. Looks great as it is now too.
