Make sure you open your brake fluid cap so air can release, you may spill some fluid depending on the level when you compress the pistons in.

Take an old pad and insert it on one side and use channel locks to completely compress it, then with the one side locked in, compress the other side using another set of channel locks. Use an old pad cause it will scuff the pad, also the channel lock needs to be large enough to gain a grip on the outside of the caliper.

I found you can compress each piston (there are 2 per side of caliper) almost independently, just do one then then other and they'll both work in. It's important that one side is locked completely down for this to work.

Thanks I think they look awesome. Yea there 265/75/16. It's what I had before. And it seams to be a good compromise for the wheeling that I'll be doing with the truck.

Its pushed out past its normal range. I use channel lock players to turn it a little bit and try to work it back into its bore.

Funny, I just got done putting pads in mine 2 hrs ago. I had the same problem.

I like to compress and replace one side at a time. Leave one of the old pads in and compress the opposite side until enough room for new pad. Then do the same with the remaining pad.

I've popped the cylinder out of the bore on several occasions, just reinsert and all will be fine.

Things are starting to move again with this truck (my 96). I just registered it (didn't want to have to pay insurance until it was close enough to drive). Just changed out my carpet, I went with a charcoal grey which is just a tad darker than what the truck originally came with. I also sound deadened the back and floor before applying the carpet. Pics below:

Unfortunately while I was looking at the engine I noticed that I had cracks in my exhaust manifold. They were pretty large so I went ahead and ordered a pacesetter header and OEM gasket. Will show that update possibly next week.

Do you think the sound killer stuff is gonna help a bunch? Did you just take the carpet out, clean the bare floor up and stick?

It definitely helps out a bit. I've done this before to my old 92 civic hatch. I actually did a considerably more serious job with that and it was like a coffin inside when you closed the doors.

To answer your question, yes I took out the old disgusting carpet and considered lighting it on fire. Then I used Windex and a bunch of paper towels to get any oils and dirt cleaned out. I also cleaned and added sound dampener to the inner quarter panels (behind the rear speakers). This was a moderate sound dampening job if I say so myself. I didn't have enough to do my doors but I might get them done later.

The carpet was a ACC carpet that took me about 3 hours to get in there just right.

If you don't have a channel locks. C claps work too.

I tried to use a C clamp but mine was too small. The message is valid all the same.

We already bought a new caliper, passenger side is the the same way, maybe we'll try doing this before we get a new one. Might just be time to replace them before they blow.

Not today but a couple days ago I got finished with my lights, they are just cheap ones from eBay but they seem to work really well for now. Made some mounts with angle iron and 3/4" tubing, the lights mount onto part of the frame. it doesn't look fantastic but it's functional so for now I think it's alright. Took me a couple days to realize I put the fuse in the wrong slot in the add a circuit which was kind of frustrating lol. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

    For the sellers I follow?

Here's one seller that still sells a good selection of vision x evo prime clones.
    http://stores.ebay.com/motorbox1984/

Here's the seller I've found that offers the new xpr clones where I recently bought my 12".
    http://stores.ebay.com/neverlanglight/

Here is the seller I go to all the time. Used to sell a lot of vision x clones, but not so much anymore for some reason. Also some Baja designs squadron clones. Maybe a few other clones. And has lots more other nice products. Think it's my favorite eBay store I've found.
