Nice pics. I had a 2013 WRX that I bought new and put about 35k on. Various mods. Accessport, short shifter, the common stuff. It was a fun car, but I had a lot of issues with it. Rear view mirror fell off, had the seat covers replaced twice (fraying), center console wouldn't latch, burned a lot of oil, very noisy transmission, paint scratched/chipped very easily, and other issues. Sometimes on cold start it would blow a bunch of oil and blue smoke out of the exhaust for a few seconds and run really rough. I maintained it meticulously and didn't really abuse it. Drove it like I thought a "sports car" should be driven- it just didn't hold up.

It started leaking a bunch of oil around the turbo, so I decided to trade it and my 2001 Tundra in on a Tacoma.

I hope you have better luck, they are fun cars. Honestly I haven't driven anything better in the snow.

Man that is unfortunate. Knock on wood I haven't had any major issues with mine...yet lol. I've heard very similar stories with other WRX's. I just try my best to drive it "carefully" if there is such a thing. Being in the right gear when building boost, and keeping my foot out of it when it's low in the RPM's I think has been a savior for my ringlands thus far. I've put about an additional 30k miles on it since I bought it so i'm at 61k right now

Everytime I drive it I have this eerie feeling it may be my last drive for a while  Sometimes it's hard not to feel like that with all the Subaru horror stories I hear. I've had this itch to sell it for quite some time now until I'm in a better position to maybe find a low mileage STI hatchback. Maybe do a closed deck motor build with modest power and have a good long lasting runner.

But man they are a scary car to buy used. I originally wanted an older hawkeye or something similar but was impossible to find anything with lower miles that wasn't modded to hell.

x2 on the snow comment. This thing gets around like no other. Very confidence inspiring when the conditions are rough.

Yeah, I was bummed when I traded it in. I know a lot of people with WRX/STI's and most don't have the issues that I had. I think I just got a lemon.

Keeping it out of boost in high gear/low RPM will keep your ringlands in good shape from what I understand.

Funny thing is the toyota dealer where I traded it in slapped some paint on it and sold it for 29k- more than I paid for it new.

Well that's a bummer. I know I'll kick myself if I get rid of it, but there's always plenty more WRB hatchbacks out there. I'm constantly going back and forth on it though because I love the car.

That's interesting though  I think people tend to think the 11-14's are worth gold now that the 15's and 16's out now. Which is understandable to an extent because for me, it was the last years of the Subaru "look.

There's a 2013 STI sedan for sale at the Toyota dealership here with 9k miles on it. They want 35k for it

Yeah I think you made a good choice with the BRZ  I think it's just the nature of turbo'd Subaru's. They don't last forever. Thankfully the aftermarket support is strong.

They need to come out with a BRZ STI : ) I loved the AWD though.

On another note, what camera/lens are you using for the pictures?

I use a Sony A6000. For lenses I have a Sony 50mm 1.8 and a Sigma 19mm 2.8. Pretty much all the shots on the last page are with the 50mm except for the rollers.
