That won't fly in Texas, has to be concealed. Now as of January 1st you can open carry in your vehicle as long as you have it in a belt or shoulder holster on your person.

If you have IL CCW you can have gun loaded and on your person in Illinois. Now if you away from your vehicle and some where wher you cannot carry gun, the gun has to be locked in a container seperate from magazine and ammo. I have an xdm 9 in a kydex iwb mounted in center counsel. A portable gun safe inder drivers seat tethered to frame of seat when Im not carrying.

I usually have it on me. It is hard to access while driving so I'm going to look into a set up like this. Been thinking about it for awhile. Time to do it. I have a console vault for when I have to store it in the truck. Also have a couple of Nano vaults to lock gun and ammo away when in states not covered by my permits.

This is an Uncle Mike's pocket holster with Velcro stapled onto it. Holds my Bodyguard 380 I hope to upgrade to a sig 938 soon.

In AZ I would probably get a warning for only having a 380.

Posted this in the frugal diy thread but thought I'd cross post here. Finally upgraded.

Bulldog Holster with the retaining strap and metal clip removed. Staple some velcro onto the belt support. Tuck the retainer flap for the spare mag into the pouch to use the outside existing velcro to support the front. Fits perfect, out of sight, rock solid, easy to reach.

In Florida, if you have a CWP, the firearm cannot be visible. If the police officer sees the gun on a routine traffic stop, you are in trouble.
