    They're practical for longer yaks, when things get windy and choppy.

    Going on a little paddling trip in a week. Threw together a sleeping platform real quick with materials I had around the garage. 05afc2b96c9ca30cb0fd27c7e2fdc95e_c62f1089c1b27d37769f604b3a79dfabd7cd6506.jpg
    Going to be mostly playboating I think. My boat fits nicely, keeps it off the roof rack for the 3 hour drive down.

    @Jeffvt0508
    Over 14' a rudder makes a big diffrrence,
    w/o the rudder you need to anticipate your moves in advance.
    The 10'-12' range are very forgiving and the rudders on them is more for tracking if you are going on long straights.
    Go try as many as possible.

    Going to hit up some spots in the Columbia valley. Meeting a budy around Caslegar in southern BC. He's going to show me around as I haven't paddled anything in that area yet.

    Currently fishing a Emotion 12.5 ft mojo angler sit on top, still have my 10 ft sundolphin fishing kayak I bought from Walmart. For 300 bucks it's been a great yak, I used it in large ponds and small lakes. Pics are with sundolphin. I'll post the mojo once I get her set up. Spring is just around the corner.

    Nice kayaks & setups.
    The wife and I just got into it this past summer. We love it. So many places in Florida that are on our list to visit.

    This is me last weekend. Hooked into this 4lb brown while trying to find the bass in real windy, choppy conditions (though you can't tell by the picture). I've equipped this Old Town Trip 10 with an anchor trolley, a couple star ports, more tie downs, a couple flush-mount rod holders, and a skirt. I have a transducer for my Lowrance Elite 4 DSI mounted behind the seat shooting through the hull, and the sonar sits on a platform that goes in a star port, the battery in a waterproof case in the rear hatch. A little rattle-can camo paint job atop the blue color to aid in my waterfowl hunts last fall.

    I like the boat well enough, but I really have my heart set on a Jackson Big Rig -- bigger, stable, sit-atop, and very adaptable. (Maybe next month.) I really want a boat I can use for fishing, photography, and as a lay-out boat for waterfowl. So, I expect I'll be offering this one up for sale soon!

    I can't wait to get back out. I have a hobie revolution 13. I live on the water from spring when the water warms up to the end of fall.
