They are still considered "off-road only" since they are not DOT approved lights. Any lights, even normal headlights, can blind oncoming traffic if not aimed correctly. I would advise not using them on the road, but if you do then use common sense and aim them so you're not blinding anyone.

Also the driving lights are only in 30w.

Looking at doing lights on the sides of my truck for area lighting in the bush and when camping. The driving style was recommended to me before, but it seems like that might be too bright/focused. Would you recommend floods or diffused for something like that?

Good question, I'm thinking 50 feet should be sufficient.

Looking at Rigid Industries specs (since that's what these seem most similar too), it seems like the diffused are probably what I'm looking for. Put me down for two.

Are you going to run them off the battery at times with the truck off?

I'm a big fan of diffused for area lighting, but if you plan on running them off the battery for a while then you might want to get a lower watt light. But 80w isn't going to kill a battery fast anyways.

    40w diffused and 40w spot!

Diffused for my cab rack ditch lights, and the spot for my fog lights in the front bumper.

Now that I've slept on it, two sets of 30W driving with smoke covers. More in the name of versatility than battery conservation, the 10W/1A won't make much of a difference.

Ok, guys it looks like we have enough to get this going. I'm going to setup the payment page with the 20% off since we are close. I'll leave this open until next week and then get everything ordered up!

As fogs I would go with the floods plenty of light, but not too much to cause blinding, as long as you mount them low. Price is for the pair with harness.
