Hmmmm wonder if replacing the stock stuff with some grade 8 hardware would be worth it...

Well it's a bit overkill in all truth and what I like about the stock stuff is that they have integrated locks built into the bolts. So it's actually the upper nuts from the mount which you will have to remove. I reversed one on the driver side though and then still had to grind the lock on it a bit from one side because it was impossible to hit with any sort of rachet, wrench, or impact gun.

Toyota designed this truck to piss you off with all the tight spaces.

You're telling me. Heres my mod list of shit I keep putting off that I want to get done before I head down south...
Poly bushings on body and steering rack
Oil catch can (can't reach the shit under the SC lol)
    Fuel pump upgrade
    Doug Thorley Short tube headers
Install the rear leather seats (Those are easy, I was waiting because I hurt my hand and couldn't really use, probably get those in this week)
TRS retrofit with the Depo lights

A boat load of electrical work needs to be done as well, but I'm waiting til after the build when I can relocate the battery to the bed and have the room to install the sPod and bussman fuse box, then all the lighting can get installed and the ARB compressor.

I have so much fucking shit sitting on the shelves in my garage lol. You've seen my garage, I'm literally going to be emptying 2 of the shelving units in like 3 weeks lol.

Also waiting on the engine mounts until I get the cash to get the trans mounts made too. I read somewhere that only doing engine and not trans can cause extra stress on the trans bushings. or vice versa. Would rather just do them both at the same time.

Then I need to start saving up for gears and lockers to get all my power back. It gets up goes still, but regearing will be so much fun :D. 34s and 4.56 gears will probably be like 33s and 4.88s.

I don't buy the whole "extra stress" deal. Matter of fact having a softer bushing somewhere is for the engine of trans is actually going to be much more helpful because it's not all hard all around. I still have to do the cab mount bushings but those are going to be a bitch to do. Once those are done I will be good to go as I will have poly all around except for the trans and the rear end leaf pack bushing. As of right now though I am very very pleased with the way things turned out.

I do have to figure out what triggered my VSC light to trip on though. I may have likely started the truck with a plug disconnected somewhere and it stored it in the memory so now it is triggering the VSC light to be on now most likely.

I agree though. You do have a lot of shit in your garage. Better get to throwing it all on! You are like a car part hoarder. Lol.

As for me. I got all the junk you listed down installed now. Minus the catch can and shorty headers.

I also discovered that my crank seal in the front is apparently leaking also. At 61K. Awesome.

Yeah I have seen that before as well and am kind of aware of that issue. I wonder what the deal is with that and why they do?

I dunno man, it makes sense, the bushings at the engine and trans tone down the vibrations, so by making the engine solid mounted, all those vibes translate to the transmission bushings, as well as any movement coming back through.

And yeah, I need to take a weekend or whatever and just work on the truck, probably take me a solid week of just working on the truck a couple hours a day. And actually I need to replace my garage door motor so when i use it at night it doesn't wake the kid up. That's sitting on the floor as well, waiting for install lol.

Hmmmm just take it to the dealer and ask to have the VSC recalibrated. Anytime lift happens those VSC bullshits pop up. Mine happens occasionally if I pump up a curb or something.

I am definitely a car part hoarder. But more so out of patience. Did it with my mid travel, waiting until I had EVERYTHING needed for install and then did it all at once. I hate just adding a part, saving up, adding a part. I'd rather go from night to day and enjoy :D

Makes sense dude. And also, I didn't lift anything? I can always just recalibrate it myself without taking it to the dealer but I found it a little perplexing when it came on and cut the power a little bit at first, then stopped trying to regulate me and just drive. What are you talking aboutas far as lift is concerned though? What could had possibly changed besides the potential height of the engine, or the position of the steering wheel.

That's a lot of flippin work.

BS you aren't lifted. Any lift over stock ride height really should need the VSC re-calibrated. Some people (like myself) get away with it with zero issues, but others have crazy issues with it chirping at them anytime anything happens in the truck. Sounds like you did something that caused your VSC to go nutso and now its gonna chirp at you all day long, TBH I don't even know how to recalibrate any of that shit, for electronics like that I'd just go to the dealer and have them do it. Shouldn't really cost much if anything.

I am lifted. Lol. Coilovers are cranked up 1.25" instead of 1" (they moved down or settled at some point which I never noticed until recently) but I recalibrated it long ago and never had an issue since due to the rake being retained and the stock VSC seeing it still. I can do all the recalibrations in a factory style myself, but ai am just curious as to why it went off. I didn't get a chance to pull a code if there was one as I was pissed that install of this stuff took so long and was done with working on the truck for the day, which is also why I didn't realign it, but I think that might be related to why it is going odd.

Ohhhhhh yeah if your alignment is super off I bet that's what's setting it off. If your toe is way off, you're probably wearing down the tire like crazy and its setting it off. That's happened to me after I jump the truck, my cam tabs were bent and my camber was stupid, like // \\ stupid camber and my VSC was going off a bunch on the way to Firestone (idiots)

How easy are we talking here? A couple belts (in my case) pull off a few pulleys and then remove the main shaft seal and replace then reverse install?

Pull your belts, and the main crank pulley bolt( breaker bar against the frame and just bump the starter will break er loose.) pull the pulley off pop the seal out , tap new one in..... It's easy. The breaker bar and starter trick is the SHIT! you can see people do it on YouTube.

I did it once already for the blower. Lol. It's an awesome trick. Potentially dangerous but awesome. The pulley comes out without having to pull it with a puller?
