On Yotatech or something, a person claimed to have done a datalog and the stock pump was running 97% duty cycle and AFR drops at higher rpms. Really, an upgraded pump is one of the cheapest mods and can easily be done in a couple of hours. I should add, on a brand new truck, my tank had A LOT of plastic shavings and dirt in it and stuck on the sock.

Was those datalog 97% duty cycles with an NA or a supercharged tacoma?

Regardless, this statement and information only solidifies what I am talking about even further. Ideally, you never want to exceed over 90% duty cycle as that remaining 10% is more of a safety net.

My rousch kit on another vehicle runs about 47%duty cycle, so I had planned on the pump change early on because regardless of the pulley size, the pump has to be pushing it's limits from the factory. I think 12TRDTacoma's fuel pump experience justifies a very small expense compared to all the other crap we spend money on.

Ok whatev lol. Agree to disagree. I'm not gonna have this same conversation every 3-6 months. A certain ostrich will show up if we keep it up, and then mods get involved...

One has intake and outlet on the same side. The other is intake on one side and outlet on the other

You're a straight fool Jeff. Lol. Well what else could I expect from IN THE NAVYYY!!!!

It is a wise decision and definitely a good preventative to keep you from getting stranded on the road all of sudden with or without warning.

Dude, have you seen how small the stock pump is? I am surprised that shit is able to make the truck run with how tiny it is. Tell you wht, if you don't believe me, I will bring it to the next mod day or wheeling trip just to show you how shit it is.

Denso or not, you can only condense things to be so small to the extent that they will not work properly and be able to keep up with the demands that it is expected to keep up with.

Get a AEM 320LPH 50-1200 greentop. I have had excellent results and an overall experience with mine. It is E85 capable as well if you choose to go that route at aome point, you are set.

    You mean 255LPH? Lol.

No need to buy a new pump when I have 2 sitting here. I'm sure one of them will fit.
Also don't need that big of a pump. If I can make 500awhp on my evo running e85 using a 255. It should be more then enough Pump for my Tacoma.

Oh and no I meant 255hp
You can get 2 diffrent pumps
    255LP and 255HP
They may have changed it up over he years but the HP =high pressure
    LP=low pressure

Walpro? If so, they would both be 255lph (high pressure) but one has offset inlet/outlet. My memory sucks, but I think the ones for the toyota are NOT offset. The hp is a marketing gimmik. I would think you could use either as long as they don't interfer with the valve in the bucket that allows fuel to flow in.

Yeah the Toyota ones are inlet and outlet in the same spots. Not offset.

The hp vs LP was not a making gimmic.
as demand on the pump increased the LP dropped off. So the HP was interduced. I have logged both pumps and at anything over 25psi on the LP pressure started dropping rapidly.
The HP was able to better keep up with demand.

Brainawd is correct. Walbro offers two versions of the 255lph pump. Back years ago when I didn't know any different I had ordered a 255lph pump kit through URD. Ran great. Until I added boost pressure to the fuel pressure regulator. At that time years ago, URD only offered the non High Pressure version. As no one was increasing their fuel pressure with a boost reference.

Fast forward to when I made my front mount turbo kit, and had the ProEFI for tuning, we noticed some dips on the dyno graph. Pulled up the datalog, and at only 10 psi boost, which also put an additional 10psi pressure on the fuel system & pump, it was not able to keep up. Plain as day in the datalog.

Shared that data on XRU and boom. All sorts of new pumps that could handle increased fuel pressures were available through URD.

All pump manufactures show flow output versus pressure increase on X-Y graphs. Walbro's non HP 255 only does well with static fuel pressure.

Brianawd, use the pump with inlet on bottom and outlet on top.
