Um....Super light chassis, high aero, traction control aids, left and right turns, etc.. You can't even come close to comparing the two.

I've felt this way before today. GTFO with Goodyear loving. They haven't been innovative and held up their end of their job...

 

They still use slicks... So does drag racing. Why let Goodyear have the monopoly...

 

Should they run p zero rain tires instead?

They should do some HARDCORE testing with some new tires this off season, maybe let another company or two let some prototype tires in, and go from there. Goodyear has gotten lazy at catching up with aero and track changes, bc THEY know their job is secure

 

Right? It's the tires fault my guy didn't pit sooner.

Having dealt with Dunlop in a racing capacity(offroad) they test like crazy. Nascar gets almost all of their focus.

 

They why have they been so poor. The last 2 years...

Nah. I just don't buy Goodyear Street tires, and I had a choice and didn't choose them. Also when I buy slicks, it won't be Goodyear either...

I been looking at the mickey Thompson slicks, but I don't want to spend that kind of money yet...

 

I like the fall-off due to the new aero package. The drivers will have to learn to adapt. Goodyear is still bringing hard AF tires each week, but they're a tad bit softer. The real solution is BIAS PLY tires like they ran until early 90s. Those tires put on great shows. Goodyear and NASCAR are buddy buddy. I doubt they'll ever leave NASCAR. Coincidentally, I don't see many Goodyear tires on the cars in the parking lots at the speedways. I loved the old Hoosier and Firestone fonts. Unfortunately, no American tire company is interested in resurrecting the Tire Wars. I'd love to see BFG, Firestone and Hoosier printed on the sidewalls. Firestone is focused on Indy (for now, but they're trying to bail). Pirelli has F1 for now (but that's always a touchy subject).

 

I like it too... the competition could mean better tires, and faster laps...
