Went out this morning. Played around with the MTS and Crawl Control in the snow.2016-03-19 012.jpg
    2016-03-19 019.jpg
Needless to say, not super impressed with the G/Y "all terrain" tire that came with the truck in some situations, Not that I'm staying with them but...
    2016-03-19 010.jpg 2016-03-19 007.jpg
The more I played in the deep stuff, the more I realized that once you get to the bottom of the snow, the more traction you have. Kinda like the old timers all ran tall and skinny tires, this truck is heavy and wants to churn to the bottom looking for traction. Maybe the 255/85 route is the way to go...2016-03-19 005.jpg
All of my past Toyotas and '99 Tacoma responded well to 33X12.50 or 285/75 tires, as they were light enough to provide some flotation on snow and silty terra firma. I plan to take the 285/70R17 Cooper STT's off of the wife's FJ Cruiser once the lift is on the new Taco. Want to try them before I commit to purchasing new rubber, but I'm suspicious that I will like the taller skinnier tires on this truck. I tried 255/85R16 BFG (old) Mud T/A's on the old '99 for a while and found them to want to dig to the bottom for traction, but then not have quite the pounds per square inch to really grab good traction underneath, probably because the truck was too light.2016-03-19 009.jpg
Anyway, the rotten ass teenager son of mine and I had a good time checking all of the breakover points of the new truck and doing doughnuts and catching some air and scaring the antelope away and laughing like idiots together. Fun day with my kid!

One trail led to another (as they do ) and ended up in Yarnell. Found a cool campsite along the way...

Would've been nice! Went down to Phx yesterday and decided to take the long way back home up north. Been to box canyon before, but not on any of the trails out of there.

This is what is wrong with OK. I have the same thing behind my house. A stupid field with a hill that I can climb. We need a mega earthquake to shake this terrain up. Bring on the fracking!!!!
