Wondering if I will be up to crank it up and have it fit in the same spare tire spot as the factory spare tire goes. Or if I'm going to have to buy a spare tire rack or something like that

I would say yes as TRD OR's come factory with that tire size.

Well that was easy, thanks guys. Does anybody know how big of a tire I can fit back there?

I had to wack the guides with a hammer to get my 265/70R17 tire fit. That is nearly the exact size as your 265/75R16. If you want to go bigger you might have to cut some of the guides off.

My 265/75-16 Duratrac spare fits fine without any modification.

You can fit a 265/75/16 no problem. I have seen people fit 285/75/16's too but they had to do some massaging with a hammer and it sat pretty close to the axle.

how bad is it that your spare doesnt match your other tires?

just ordered some 265/75/16's, getting installed this week. Spare is factory though, 265/70/16.

If you put the different size tire on the front and you are in 2-wheel drive you won't really have much of an issue except the vehicle will pull to one side probably. However, if you have mismatched tires on the rear it could pose a serious risk to your differential because one tire will be spinning faster than the other

Got it. So if I get a flat on a rear tire, I'll need to do a double switch to be safe. I may just order a new spare eventually, just so I dont have to worry about that. Thanks.

There was a member just talking about it the other day. He hammered the tabs and moved the hoist a couple inches to the rear so it would clear the diff.

@Crom put a 255/85r16 in there, same diameter as 285/75r16.

@Uncle Cliffy also did. It's easier than the 285 due to the 255 being skinner and not contacting the diff.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
It looks goofy 'cause it's so wide it kinda hangs down under the trailer hitch. No pic of it there, just here...

Keep in mind a 285/75R16 weighs in at real close to 80lbs depending on wheel. You really wanna be sure your rack and strap selection are appropriate. Sending that bad boy flying in an accident could be bad.
