My friend is selling his '93 toyota pick up. I know, not a tacoma but still...

22re, manual trans, 4x4, extra cab, 363k on the odometer. No frame rust, straight body, interior is surprisingly good, no drips or leaks underneath.

$2k. Walk away or buy it?

    He MIGHT come down $250-500.

The truck has so much potential! It would need new steering and suspension parts but that won't be an issue to slowly replace piece by piece.

Myself I have a hard and fast rule I never break Don`t buy vehicles or welders from friends .

Only if your giving them a few dollars about scrap price.

So many Good friendships are trashed over vehicles .

I'm guessing the welder has a story behind it?

If you have the cash do it . It would be a great project truck . Old Toyota trucks are tough and if its clean then you have a good foundation. If it where me I would it ! Do you have any pics ?
