    Where I live in the winter time metallic particles that land on the paint turn to orange rust specs, this and tar, easiest way to remove them is with clay bar. I did it in -2c weather outside! (28f) I have a garage but haven't added heat to it yet! Cold, red hands, but worth it. Makes you appreciate things more done this way, lol

    My extended cab door looks a different color in this picture, same as I see in a lot of pictures of 2016 tacoma's, but in person I don't see it. Must be a taco thing!

    I made the grill myself. I found a supplier for the metal mesh and I cut the grill apart to mount it. Later I added the cutout for the light and I made the metal surround for it from scrap aluminum I had. The fasteners are stainless fasteners from ACE hardware, they have a great selection.

    Welded them on but they come with holes and hardware to bolt on. I shaved the body weld seam where the legs pass under it to the frame so I could tuck the sliders up farther.

    Take a picture of the threads. If so it's the same diameter as your wheel studs but the threads will be closer together. Or try a subaru lug nut on it as that's the typical subaru wheel stud thread pitch.

    No I don't. If I can this weekend I will take the grill off and get some pics.

    As soon as I get the truck clean I will take some. I took it out yesterday and it's still covered in mud. :)

    @Digiratus

    My bad. That's all right. Glad I got my nose rubbed in it now before I burned out a fuse on a trail :) I guess I need to rethink the fuse and breaker configuration for the winch and the HP alternator.

    Edit: So I'm thinking all I need is to add a 250A ANL fuse or similar between the battery and the alternator. I already have BamaToy's big 3 I just didn't realize I was creating an un-fused connection that was redundant to the smaller connection through the fuse box. Of course if the big fuse blows then the smaller one in the fuse box will also blow, hopefully before the 250A surge melts the fuse box down. Thanks for the wiring diagram :)

    @Jeff Butts

    I'm not sure I understand this part. Doesn't the alternator have to go through the fuse box in order for the voltage regulator to work right? I'm just wondering if the diagnostic/error circuit will still be energized if the stock alternator-to-fuse box wire is disconnected.

    "I am going to disconnect the alternator from the fuse box by disconnecting the wire inside the fuse box. Then run a bigger wire from the alternator to the 150amp breaker and then to the + side of the battery."
    Nevermind. It looks like everything the fuse box needs can come upstream through the battery wire. I understand what you are doing now.

    So I tried messing with my locker more this weekend and I can't get any power to it. When I press the switch the locker light just flashes. But none of the wires going to the locker are getting power. I have done the grey wire mod.

    @Speedytech7 would you know if it's the same size across the board for all first Gen manuals 95.5-04?

    I haven't personally verified it, but pretty much all Toyota manual shifters can use the same knobs. Hell even the supra had an M12x1.25 shifter thread. There is no reason it would be any different seeing as how it is same two manual transmissions used for all those years. And if you have the j-shift that uses the same thread too, I know because I'm using a knob for the 5 speed on my jshift.
