Called the salesman, verified options and price both verbally on phone and through email, then put $500 on my credit card and boom ordered! Pick up tomorrow :woot:
Now I hope they checked the transmission fluid and U joints in the PDI as I instructed.....

Well my waiting game is officially over! Got the call late last night that my truck probably came in on the truck last night..and confirmed that this morning. We picked it up this morning.
    Ordered 1/19
Build date originally 3/23, later moved up to 3/17
Probably was built a couple days earlier because it was at the dealer last night!
Silver DCSB TRD Sport, Prem/Tech/JBL, tow pkg, sill guards and mudflaps.
I absolutely love it, only 50 miles on it but did not notice any issues I've heard about here. All we did today is remove front plate (they installed it against my wishes, oops), remove airdam and put in the Weathertechs. I have an appointment to get TRD rims w/BFGs put on tomorrow - can't wait!
Best of luck to everyone waiting - hopefully yours will come sooner than later like mine did! image.jpgimage.jpg

I have been watching my production date move back two days over the last week or so...I think they are buidling a LOT of Tacomas right now. I submitted my change order on 3/3, with an inital production date of 4/4, and now we are at 4/6.

I was always told good things come to those who wait ;-)

PM me your VIN if you want and ETA to dealer or an update, I will get to them as soon as I can.

Not fair for you and us waiting . I wonder if the reason for the push back is they are taking all the sold orders and bunching like trucks ( all LB's or whatnot ) together and making them now before it becomes time to start making 2017's . I would think at the end of the model year it takes longer to make a lot of small lots of special order trucks.
I worked for Snap on Tools for 28 +years , and and at certain times of the year we had to make the oddball tools . It always slowed things down as compared to making the bread and butter sized sockets etc. in high volume .

I put down $500. They cashed the check. If you don't put anything down you have no right to the vehicle. I would recommend putting something down. My estimated build date is April 16th. TRD sport dclb 4x4 with tech

Yes, from what I've learned the DCSB is the model that is made primarily day to day at the factory, the DCLB is done for a few days in a row per month (or so) and that's it. They don't change things up at the factory for custom orders, you just have to wait and see if one gets churned out eventually with your specs.

I am playing the waiting game....waiting for a super white TRD OR 4X4 DCLB with tech and JBL. Been looking for one since Sept 2015. I am very picky with this truck because if I'm going to be paying 38 k+ i want it to be the exact truck i want. Been waiting since Oct and my connection at the local dealer finally gave me a build date for the exact truck. Got a build date of 4/22 and will be delivered by mid May, if not sooner. Grinding my teeth with anticipation and excitement.
Funny story I have a connection with the owner of a big local dealer. He had ordered me a truck back in Oct, but the problem was that he didn't know much about the trucks. He ended up ordering me a white TRD Sport 4X4 DCLB with tech package. The truck was sitting there waiting for me, but i turned it down. I told him the differences and he said ok ill find you a truck.....hence the waiting game. After i looked over the sport and said no, he sold it that day lol.
Why don't they do it like Mini cooper. You can order online and even track its production. Save a lot of headache on both the costumers and the dealers.

I just got off the phone with the dealership. At the time I ordered the truck I was told I would have to wait 8-10 weeks for the truck to get delivered. I ordered my truck 2/17, my build date is 4/21, 9 weeks and 1 day from the order date. He says I should see my truck in "early early May" I think he's full of sh!t. Is it too late to try and beat him up on the price some more?

Just got this on an email. not exactly sure what it means, but......
    Terry,

Good afternoon. I know its been a long wait but the end is near. Tacoma is approximately 10 days from arriving at the vehicle production center. After that it will be on its final voyage to the dealership.

    Thanks for your patience.

Mine was supposed to be at the dealership last week (Friday), and I was called and informed of some sort of delay so another 6-8 days to wait. I'm now going from anxious to angry.

Sorry about the wait guys but it is worth every minute of waiting. Toyota has done a great job with the new truck and you will be happy you waited for what you want
