I've been looking all over Miami for a SR DCSB in glacier white, but haven't had any luck, so I figured I'd just order one.

I've never done this before, so I wanted to know how the process goes.

I currently have a Nissan Juke (yuck) that I'm leasing and I'm hoping the dealer can absorb the payments remaining ($2500) or put it into my monthly payments.

Just send out what you want to at least 8 dealers. Most OUT of Florida to escape their horrendous "Doc Fees up to $999. CHECK
Southeast Toyota Inventory for your truck, You are not looking for something unusual/

Would you recommend in Georgia? I don't mind making a trip up there.

Can´t help you on the lease situation as I have never leased a vehicle, but I would imagine you either need to wait until the term is up, or you will take a hit on early termination. I really don´t know about that. I do know however, that to get what you want you can tell a few dealers and they will check the area for you, or you can go on Toyota.com and use different zip codes to where you are willing to travel, also cars.com works well. Here is one in Louisiana, you didn´t give much specifics besides SR and white, DCSB, so this one popped up.Screenshot 2016-03-21 at 5.28.52 PM.jpgx

okay... I'm gonna ask a very stupid question, so please forgive me.
let's say I do decide to order my tacoma and I put $500 deposit, and I also want to put a down payment to help with my monthly payments. would the down payment be given at the time of the deposit, or once the truck arrives?

also, how long does it usually take to get an order completed? from beginning to unloading?

Don't give them a payment before you get the vehicle. It will complicate things if the vehicle is not the exact one you wanted. I waited a month for mine but it was already allocated to another dealer when my dealer snagged it. Otherwise I would wait for the 17s if it will take eight weeks to get

Find a vehicle already out there......Tell the dealer you are from Florida and will fly or rent a car one way to pick up the truck. Make sure they send you a buyer's order with all options listed,

I don´t want to get into your business and please do not feel obligated to explain, but, for a few thousand more you can get the SR5 and have a mid range truck. A little more than basic, a little less than the bells and whistles.

As for the deposit, MOST dealers will want the deposit up front, the down payment will be taken in the finance office when you have your truck, have test drove it, and are happy and signing papers. Do Not give down payment until you are happy.

For length of time ordering, if there is one that a dealer can trade, it would just be a matter of how well the two dealers handle that process. You are not wanting anything out of the ordinary, so they shouldn´t have to put in a special allocation. It could take only a few weeks, to a few months, depending on stock.

Give the dealer the least amount of money down when you place the order........once they get your money they really don't care when your truck comes in.

I would love to get the SR5, especially since the SR has those horrible black bumpers, but the three dealerships I've been to have quoted me crazy prices.

I saw that you mentioned Georgia. I will have to see who it was, but I was looking for a Sport, Inferno, and contacted a dealer in Georgia. The salesman said he will send a car to the airport to pick me up and take me to the dealership, and if I needed to stay a night or two, they would recommend a hotel that would give a discount for them. However, some other life things happened, and now I will have to wait for the 2017.

You can trade in a leased car anytime. You can also buy it out anytime.. If trading in, and you are underwater - then you have to make up the difference. There is nothing that says you have to finish the lease term. That's a common misconception. Any leased car has a 'buy out' price at any time during the lease period.

For the OP, I would find out what that number is, and see how close you are to the trade in price or just sell it private party.

The down payment is given when you actually pick up the truck and buy it. Not needed to order.

I went to a dealership near me who was willing to absorb the payments and was giving me a really good deal, but it was an access cab, and I really want a double cab.

Thanks for that @stan23. I have never needed to lease, so I was hoping someone with some better input would chime in.

There will be add ons either at the dealer or port, such as carpet floor mats, paint protection, mud guards, etc. Those things are always negotiable. Do not pay 200 dollars for some carpet floor mats, tell them either meet me halfway, or take them out completely.
