It sucks but like others have said at least you have a job. Think about the ones overseas in the military.

I've been in law enforcement for almost 15 years. The police dept doesn't close, no bonuses, no Christmas parties. Heck I can't begin to tell you how many ACTUAL holidays I have worked. When I first got on I worked 1400-2200 hours with Tues/Wednesdays off.....But you know what I picked my job!!!! I can only blame myself.

I know it probably doesn't help you much, but this is the time of year where you should count your blessings. Next time just grab a pen and paper and write down all the good things that you have going in your life!

On your next day off, grab your lady, tell her to put that nice dress on, and go have a celebration of your own!!!!

And let me add that when the guys at my job complain (which is often) I tell them The door is right there, Nothing is keeping you here if it's so great elsewhere. bottom line, yeah, My job sucks to. I work late on all the eve's (11pm or later) But I chose to work there. I can leave at anytime.

Most if not all jobs have there pluses and minuses. I have been at my job for almost thirty years. I get five weeks vacation and I’m number two on the seniority tree in my department. I was turned down for the week of Christmas. :pout: Upper-management thinks it is more fair to let the new employees have Christmas.:jerkoff:

    Update:
I didn't buy the dress for myself. In the last 7 months I started working the swing shift. Needless to say, I don't see my wife at all during the work week except for 5 min on Mondays and when I go to bed (of course I don't wake her up). We started recently having lunch together on Wednesdays. I see one of my kids for about 15 min before I drop him at my in-laws after picking him up from school (daughter already alseep-nap). I knew how hard my wife had worked to put on this event and I wanted to be a part of it like I did last year. Im thankful I have a job and a very reputable one at that. Being a manager at FedEx has its benefits. Although, I feel like a package handler sometimes and yesterday was one of them. I was simply venting because I needed to. I got to the resort at 3am and was in bed by 3:30. Woke up to eat breakfast with my wife's boss (did that last year too except I had a hangover and threw up at the restaurant). They all remembered me and hoped I was able to join them. As for you guys...

I would have called you names you probably never heard in the English dicKtionary (Hahaha). I was letting it all boil up before I called Ron and wished I had a 4x4 4Runner to take in the mud.

I do enjoy what I do most of the time. That night was just one of those nights where everything went wrong and it just prolonged my departure. Besides, if I wanted a route I'd rather be a contractor for FedEx Ground than a driver for UPS (employee). They're income is much higher and I actually run it like a business.

That was funny!!! :p I would have flashed you too.

I'm always in the internet. :D
2 weeks ago. Plenty of time.

Very true. I was at work deathly sick about 2 wks ago because I understand the importance of my presence and managing skills for our new building. I felt I had a day owed to me for making that sacrifice, but I am no different than anyone else who works there. We are all hardcore, faithful, dedicated people who like what we do. I just feel that it goes all unappreciated, as if its expected because we don't call off sick.

That SUCKS! I get 3 weeks with almost 5 1/2 years there. They claim we have to use them all in California or we'll lose them, but I know we don't. That's another thing that just bothers me but not a dealbreaker.

Haha. I wish I had a few drinks that night but I couldn't. Thanks Ron. I'm sure I'll share some more.

    Thanks guys.
