I didn't buy a truck with wireless charging, but I'm looking at adding it. Anyone do this yet? I don't want one of those suction cup mount chargers, I'm looking at adding a pad in the same area as the factory optioned ones.

You are going to have to contact the dealership to get the parts list needed and cost. Then talk to the service department to see what it will take to add it and tell you if it's wired for it.

Or you can save yourself a boatload of money and use the USB cable that came with your phone and plug it into the available connector. Put your money to worthwhile upgrades. :canada:

I was really just thinking about just hardwiring my own and sticking it under a pad that I cut to fit the console.

Does your phone have the built in charging? I don't think I've seen anyone have good luck with the iPhone cases, but maybe it will work better if it's built into the phone.

Lots of us having plenty of success with the Spigen case with iPhone 6's. Charges great.

My truck charges my Samsung S6 Active just fine. Who needs a case with a waterproof phone?

Did not have much charging luck with a Note 5. Works great with the S7 Edge, in a Spigen case.

I have a droid turbo and use a QI pad daily with my otter box. Truck wont charge through the case, so I remove it. But if you're driving and the phone moves at all it throws it off.

I might need to experiment before I cut into the console. Thanks for the input!

the S7 works great on the Tacoma wireless pad. better than the S6 ever did.

if you are going to incorporate a wireless pad under the oem location, I would suggest you use the Samsung fast wireless charger instead of a regular wireless charger.

apparently they have fast charging wireless pads now jus like they have fast chargers wall warts.

Just one guy's opinion but if it cost more than $100 and takes more than 2 hours, I wouldn't bother. I have it and for the most part my Galaxy Note 5 charges OK but it is finicky and not really a good substitution for direct cable charging. Kind of a gimmick IMO.
