Here is my method for theft proofing (mostly) my receiver hitch D-Ring...Home Depot has stainless plastic coated wire and swage ends and crimping tools...just so happens that I already had a 1/8 wire cable (3/16 overall with plastic sheath) so I began with that and fixed the other end to the pin...one end goes on the inside of the pin locking device...less than $5...

@andyr562 Thanks for the info on the low profile vent visors. They arrived today.

I can't get a good comparison shot of the regular in channel vs the low profile but tried. The ones unpackage are the low profile which are virtually flat in appearance vs. bubbly/rounded like standard in channel.

Both look good and I'd be happy to wear either. I prefer low profile so totally stoked that they're in channel and to get these on Friday when I'm off and no rain.

Removed the warning label on my sun visors. Anyone know how to remove the warning label on the inside mirror flap? It's definitely not a sticker..

I got mine on EBay from Beach Toyota. They seem to be a little wider and wrap around the sill. Yes, I took the plastic plate and weather stripping up and butted the against where the weather stripping mounts. I like this look better, but then, that's my opinion and I don't expect anyone to feel peer pressured to get the same ones.

Note to self - Stop f**king with factory wiring.

Apparently I did a bad thing. The dealership had the truck trying to find the cause of the short in my dome light all day...keeping it until tomorrow.

*LeSigh* It may or may not be covered under warranty.

(Side note, they tried telling me that is was because of the AUX fuse box that was installed messing with factory wiring...I promptly told them to pound sand)

I got impatient waiting for them and bought regular in channel. I too read they were not in-channel. Mine almost look huge compared to my previous trucks. Gonna live with them for now. They serve their purpose. Once I see the others on trucks mine may end up on craigslist.

Yeah that's goofy. The in channel part with the red tape is 100% the same as the regular in channel. Even looking at you tube videos was deceptive because some of the different cars and trucks had them overlap the outside pillars making them apear to be external mounting.

For those interested, the low profile seemless are in channel. :bananadance:

Nice, I just did that to mine but they seemed to superglue the plastic dealer badge but I got it off! I am thinking of Derpin my back chrome bumper like yours with matt black plasti-dip, after I just found out it wasn't even metal but plastic!

Mine was easy to get off. I started peeling the edges with a guitar pick. There was a little residual glue that I knocked off with some naphtha. I hit it with wax after that.

Definitely! I bought everything from headstrong offroad http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/. Marie there is perfect to work with. SO, in the front I got Bilstein 5100 adjustables set at .85 like most people do with them and a new Toytec/Eibach Coil(PN:521600) that added 1.5 inches of lift. Total of lift up front is 2.35-2.5 roughly. For the rear I bought the Bilstein 5100s and a Deaver 2 inch AAL. Since the rear end on the new tacomas come lifted 1.5 inches, the AAL gave me a little over 3 inches of lift in the rear.

Went 265/70r17, at first I thought the lift left to much gap but once it settles it will sit pretty well
