Did the deckplate mod. Ran it with the K&N drop in filter beforehand and it helped slightly with MPG and air flow. With the deck plate open throttle response is a bit better.

Bent a tie rod end in J Tree couple days ago. Replaced it as well as the inner yesterday. Seems impossible to find a replacement boot with a clamp...

Ok, I'll order a couple and replace those at the same time I replace my cv's. They started leaking pretty bad a couple days ago:pout:

I think its that you can get dirt in there if its ripped and wear the tie rod out sooner.

The boot is there more to protect the rack cylinder seals. With that said, you would have to do some extreme wheeling on a regular basis to make those part wear out faster with torn boots. Most mall crawlers won't see those parts wear out from bad boots.

"disconnect the alternator from the fuse box by disconnecting the "WHITE" wire inside the fuse box and tape it up good. Then run a bigger wire from the alternator to the 150amp breaker and then to the + side of the battery."

That should be all you need to do, didn't you say you already upgraded all your ground wires?

My wire colors are different now but I think the white wire was the one that went in the bottom of the fuse box and then secured with a nut at the top.

I did the @BamaToy1997 Big 3 (actually big 4) several months ago and just got the all the heat shrink finished today. I didn't notice when I did the upgrade but I see that both wires from the fuse box go to the battery now (redundant) so I don't have to worry about the alternator going through the fuse box anymore. I'll install a 250A ANL fuse between the alternator and the battery.

Also gonna finish the mockup on the battery install.

So if I want to color match a plate bumper what's the best way to do that, duplicolor color match cans?

I don't think I've ever seen a good looking color matched plate on 1st gens. 2nd gens don't turn out too badly because they're already boxy, but first gens have more curves and a "look at me" plate bumper just doesn't go well with the lines.

BUT, yea using anything that is specific to your paint code will work.

I agree with that sentiment, however given my front end "cool factor" at a bedazzling 7.9/10 I'm trying to visualize how this would look in red

    Hiya Tash.

    Long time no see.

Yeah, I think the color match would have to be factory color codes and professionally primered and painted in order not too look cheap and matchy matchy.

That looks good. The color match is a no from me.
