what diff. fluid to use???

    ok, i have a 08' sr5 4x4, i dont know what rear diff i have? i know theres no buttons inside for a diff lock or anything...i knew that some take a different fluid then otheres, thats why i ask this...

    You don't have a LSD diff., if that is what your asking. You can go with Mobil 1 diff oil without the LSD additive. LSD diff will also have a sticker on the cover that says LSD, the sticker is red and white. You shouldn't have that sticker, but you should check anyways.

    He should definately CHECK for the sticker ....

    The LSD was an option and could be on any non TRD 4WD truck.
    I've seen plenty of non TRD's with LSD's on the lots.

    I have a 07' SRD 4x4 non-lsd. I put Redline 75w90 in front/rear diffs and the transfer case. It took about 5.6/5.7 quarts when it was all said and done. Shifts into 4wd a lot smoother now, and doesn't CLUNK.

    thanks guys, when i get time to change it, ill look and see if theres a LSD sticker on it
