    So I chose the entry level because I didn't need anything fancy and I prefer the blackout look over the shiny Elite version. Just figured the brackets were black regardless.

    I believe in each description it said what color the brackets are, as well as the strut itself. The base is "silver" color, and the PLUS (which I think is the middle model) has black hardware. Maybe you ordered the base?!
