I'm really curious about these RTT's as I 've never seen one in Maine.

Are they hard to setup & takedown? I ask because often I hunt & fish (aka driving to spots) a lot and would need to setup/take down daily. Setting up a more permanent/traditional tent/setup is what I've always done....just return each evening and get settled, cook, etc.

Guess I need to weigh the flexibility of the mobility of it versus the convenience of continually setting up & taking down.

Anyone care to share any thoughts?

Exactly why I bought mine... lots of moving around...never in one spot two nights.
Easy to open. ridiculous, really...undo some velcro and unfold. If you didn't care to get the awnings out etc, you could crash in about 2 minutes....

well here is this are you going to use it just for you only?? or have a another in it? CVT actually shows weight ratings to see what you would choose. setting it up like putting it on the truck is sort of a pain, but once on unzip and pull the ladder down, get the windows opened up if you want and done

Mostly me and another (GF) at times. During hunting season dogs would be in crates in back of truck.

well according to another member here in tacoworld. spixelz I bought my rack off of him and he moves around too so he didn't worry about the annex much just tent and close up and go type deal. but I threw in blanket and pillows and closed it up no problem.

Do these RTT's have a padded bottom for a cozy nights sleep?

I don't have a RTT yet, but for the hard top on my wrangler I used a cheap ATV winch and mounted it above where the hard top will stay. I back the jeep under the winch, remove the bolts from the HT and jeep, and hook to the winch. It will lift straight up. I have foam on the ceiling of my garage to protect the top. Once the top is up, I attach a 2X4 frame under the top that has I-bolts for straps that hang from I bolts in the ceiling. This takes and distributes the weight of the top to keep it from messing up and bowing the sides. When finished I just drive out from under and pull back in nose first. This gives plenty of room from the top and jeep.

$$$$ - didn't realize they cost that much. I have a 10x10 Spike Tent & Stove setup that was about a grand.

Taking it off and putting it on in the garage wouldn't be an issue..... I have a gator mounted with rings to pull my cap off.

Problem is......the truck is lifted. There is no way I can get into my garage with the RTT on the truck, so I need something "free standing" so to speak.....which brings me back to maybe a trailer hitch crane or a game rack that swivels....

I need to find someone around here that has one to check out the setup. I've got a nice routine with my current Spike Tent setup (we're creatures of habit ;)). Having one of these would be pretty sweet!

I'm guessing (haven't searched yet)...that these can be mounted to a rack (Baja, Prinsu, etc) that's mounted to a cap (assuming the cap can handle the weight)?
