I was going to say the same thing. It;s like the frame has a slight flex if you want to call it that. I could see my bed shake some on every bump when I put my ATs on my 2nd gen. MY 3rd gen does it too but not as bad yet. I'm sure it will once I put new tires on. Check out the bed flexing on the Tundra in this video to see what I'm talking about:

Agreed. That Tundra looks like it's getting beat to death. I've seen my 2nd gen look almost that bad as well going over railroad tracks and manhole covers.

Yeah I've noticed the bed on my 3rd gen has plenty of movement in it too when I'm driving over speed bumps but I do not feel any bounce. I first thought maybe the bed mounts were loose but I guess it's just the articulation of the design....for better or worse. :(

Binding in your leafs, spring eyes, keepers, or shackes will screw up your ride...
You can mitigate normal truck bounce some by coasting over bad bumps. This relieves the axle wrap during acceleration and braking; it allows your whole spring to work instead of half of it.
Out of curiosity, have you re-torqued your u-bolts yet?

Not sure who you're asking the question to but yes mine were torqued by dealer service to 52 ft/lbs per his spec sheet that is correct torque

I noticed on the highway my bed likes to bump around sometimes. My old F150 never did that at all!

I know there is a forum here on this, but can I go and just re-torque the U-bolts myself to see if they are correct? Problem is though, I would not know how many ft/lbs to torques too...or how to measure the so called torque.

Good luck finding the spec on that. We've had tech who posts here in the forums give 52 ft/lbs as the measurement but then also several members have posted Dealer Service Paperwork showing up to 110 ft/lbs and as low as 37ft/lbs. Proceed with caution as nobody here including the techs who have posted seem to have a consistent story and nobody to my knowledge has yet provided anything specific to the 2016 Tacoma by the way of technical paperwork or diagrams confirming this once and for all.

    Sure can.
All you need is torque wrench and the socket. I believe it was a 19mm.

HF torque wrench is under $20, if you need the socket you can probably get them both for $20 or a couple bucks more.

I tightened mine to 75 ft lbs, IIRC. No issues.

You could just go off metric torque chart or standard torque values (found in a google search) . In the aircraft industry we use them. And if you research torque wrenches

What You Need To Know About Accuracy... For All Mechanical Click-Type Wrenches. The ANSI Standard allows 4% of reading error between 20% and 100% of wrench capacity. Below 20% ANSI allows an error in reading equal to 0.8% of wrench capacity. What Does This Mean To You? Using a wrench at 5% of its full scale may result in up to 16% error in reading. How can you be sure you are anywhere near the fastener torque specification? Use Caution When Buying Torque Wrenches Rated Below 20% of Full Scale. Torque wrenches that are scaled below 20% of full scale may not be accurate and may lead users to operate them below their useful range. Select a torque wrench so your working range falls near the mid point of its capacity.

Well, took in my truck for the third and last time. First two were wheel balances and caster adjustment, this time I'm having them look into the extremely noisy feel my back suspension is having. After being in 5 Tacoma's for over 20 years, I will find out if they can find anything.
They gave me an identical loaner (though base model), and I'm a bit worried...it also does not have the best feel, but it is slightly better.

We will see I guess. maybe these 2016 Tacomas just have a worse feel in my mind compared to all 5 previous ones I've owned  ?!

52lbs sounds kinda low to me. Do we know the u-bolt size? My truck hasn't arrived yet so I don't have a reference. Size the u-bolt and finding the torque spec will be (relatively) easy.

You need to know the bolt grade too.

FWIW, I torqued mine to 75ft-lbs.
