Which lift kit for a Prerunner?

While thats a very nice kit, its $1,229.99 - $1,684.99. My budget is $700, not including labor. I don't do any wheeling to justify the need to spend that much. If you can recommend a kit for my budget I'd appreciate it.

 

At least go with progressive AAL in the rear then. Single AAL and blocks are garbage.

That or save up more money and get it done right; buy once, cry once.

I am out here in the middle of the state by the lake. I get one of the mechanics from work. I'm more of the cook and tool getter if thats what the hint hint part is.

Wheelers Offroad has an progressive aal also. I would suggest like @geekhouse23 said skip the block or single aal if your going to be towing. You may even want to kepp the overload in but you will have to get longer u bolts. Don't forget about bump stops either.

 

Will that work with the 5100's?

Spindles give you 3-4" lift depending on which one. You can get the maxtracs for $500. You don't need UCAs with spindles. Spindles maintain all the factory geometry so you don't need to change anything else on the front if you don't want to. Therefor gives you the best ride quality. Just have to level out the rear.

 

Too much height for my tire size but good to know.
I think I will go with the 5100's all around and the wheelers multi leaf add a leaf set. Probably will that call Marie lady too because there is an overwhelming amount of options lol

 

GL. That set up might be a harsh ride after a while depending on where you set the billys and how much weight is in the rear. If you are just running 265s just keep it stock if you're worried about road manners.

 

99% of the time no weight in the rear. Yes 265/70/17 all terrains, just wanted to have a small lift mainly for aesthetics. Confused more then ever now lol

 

Keep it stock til you're ready to go bigger tires

 

Stock is boring. I got a killer deal on those wheels and tires from a buddy for $800. I don't want to ruin my fuel economy by going too big of a tire.

Just order the complete bilstein kit from marie at headstrong off-road. 5100's with 884's or 885's for 2-3 inches of lift. I did endless amounts of research before finally ordering this kit last week. Should improve ride as long as you don't preload the 5100s. 265's should not look too small after lift. I also have a 2013 prerunner with 265's and so does my buddy who installed the same kit. Headstrong has everything for the cheapest and free shipping. Worst case you will need UCA's if you're not happy.

Got my wheels and tires on today. Transformed the truck. Probably ordering the lift kit later this week. What do you guys suggest I list my stock wheels with almost brand new tires for ?

 

Just talked to marie, she said If I went with that kit, there is a good chance id need UCA's, unless I go with the eibach coils but then those are going to be a stiffer ride than the emu's. She also said that the AAL option sometimes backfires depending on condition of stock leafs.. Im not mechanic so I cant determine that. Need advice!

 

Lift parts are never a sure thing with regards to outcome, you'll have to take some risk.

I ran 5100s and the 3 leaf AAL and loved it for what it was, cost me less than $500 shipped to my door and I installed it myself for cost of tools.

Hard to beat that setup for the price.
