New England B.S. Thread

CT is such a boring place to live. Mass isnt much better, but at least if I want I can take the commuter rail into Boston for dinner/drinks. No one in CT says hey, let's go into Hartford this weekend, unless it's for drugs/ hepatitis.

Or I can head up to Portland for some really good food and breweries.

Very true. Buck's is excellent BBQ, but it's not as good as some of the stuff I had in the Carolinas

X2. I love that Maine has developed so many micros over the last couple of decades. I can always find something local and new to try.

A local brew pub sells their own beers for $3.50 for a true 16oz Pint. Good food too. When I worked in Augusta they were (kind of) on my way home and I stopped there a lot...

 

Yeah... I saw that but won't be able to make it. Can't leave the wife and the 2 year old alone with a 1 month old just yet, not for that long. Hoping I can make it to the one we're trying to set up for the summer, that Unchained has the thread about.

 

That's certainly understandable. I'm curious to see where that one ends up. I hope they settle on a spot soon for planning sake.

 

Agreed. A spot and a date would be kick ass. That way everyone could plan way in advance.

I think I would definitely bring the wife and the super little one along as well. Maybe make it into a long weekend, or a nice road trip or something, for the BBQ "meet up"!

 

True, but it still beats going into Hartford. At least you have the option here if you want to overpay for beer at some tourist trap you can.

I used to love when going down 84 into Hartford they had that big ass sign that said "Hartford, new englands rising star". Got taken down a few years ago, cause Hartford is a dump and they finally realized it.

 

All I can say is that if you guys like some local beer, hit up Wormtown afterwords (On Shrewsbury street). I make it a point to get multiple growlers filled up every time I am near there. Hell, we go shopping at Blackstone Shopping Center and that is close enough for me to make the trip over.
