Try that and give it another go. Less air space in the cooler the better as well for overall lower temp maintaining

If you don't pre-cool you're gonna have a bad time.

My other choice would be a grizzly, made in USA an priced decent, would like to have a Orion but not for 450.

I went with a Vibe 45qt. It looks to be the same exact as a kuer. Not a ton of reviews on either one but enough that I'm willing to take a chance. Should be here tomorrow.

I ordered directly from vibe kayak. But it looks like Amazon and eBay have them for the same price now. Although they don't have any of the camo color left. They seem to be selling quick.

Looks just like the kuer, but the vibe says up to 3" thick walls and the kuer says 2", decent price though, I may not want to wait for my rtic, post pics up when u get it and tell us what you think about it

Looks nice, feels pretty stout. I really like how easily the handles come off. I'm going to test the ice retention starting tomorrow night. I'm gonna leave it outside tonight then stuff ice in it tomorrow. I'll report back.

Besides Yeti (price) or an RTIC (wait time), what would people recommend for around a 45qt cooler? Wanting something I can use for weekend trips to hold food, drinks, and such for the kitchen.

If you don't want to spend $$, the Coleman XTreme coolers are great. Not as durable as a yeti, and you're not going to have the thermal mass that helps maintain the cold temps when pre-cooled, but for $50, a 50 qt Coleman XTreme is a good option.

Coming from a guy with three yetis...

Good to know. I just want something that will last, I have had the walmart coolers before and they just don't last or hold ice. Want something I can strap in the bed of the truck on a Friday afternoon and have Ice in until Sunday when i get back home.

Will look into the Orca. I would really like to purchase two, a smaller one for beverages and a larger one for food stuffs for camp.

Orcas are just as expensive as a yeti, and just as good. A buddy has two huge orcas he uses for long trips to the gulf. Good luck finding them at a significantly lower price point though. I have seen some good deals on Pelican coolers on Amazon. I hear they're heavy though, and they sit taller than the sides of our truck beds, which wouldn't work for me & my tonneau.

Yea after seeing the price of the Orca's they look nice, but a little high for me. Will check out the Pelican's though, not worried about how high they are as I will have a Cap on the bed someday. I wanted to buy two RTICs, but don't want the wait... ended up buying a 30oz cup and a spill proof lid for it along with a lid for my 20oz Yeti cup.

You can get a pelican on eBay for around 200... I would have went that route but it won't fit under my tonneau cover. There is plenty of brands out there. Kuer, vibe, igloo, kodi....
